Flight of the Conchords Guitars

Has anybody tried to make or identify the parts to these guitars used by FotC in season 2?

Jermaine is 'playing' an 80's professional Video editing remote (looks more Panasonic or JVC to me - not very Sony) with what appears to be two
camping TV's attached - you can just see an aerial at the top of them both.
Looks like a Kramer headstock.

Bret (got it going on, on, on...) looks like he is 'playing' an early digital sequencer or drum machine - it has volume sliders - Apears to be an early AKAI to me.

I believe Hal9000 is correct on all counts. It's definitely a video editing machine and Bret definitely has the early Akai rhythm synthesizer. I used to sell audio gear a long time ago (in the dark ages of tape before the digital takeover) and those were the best drum machines.
