Fixing metal

Anyone have the best way to fix a pewter belt buckle? It fell from about 3-4 feet up and the metal hook broke off and one side of the buckle where the belt is attached broke(maybe it was the high humidity and heat coupled with the fall? but I was surprised it broke in those spots). Super glue with accelerator worked so I could wear it in the parade but it broke off afterwards. Any ideas on what would be the most permanent?

Pics would be handy. Unfortunately due to the nature of pewter this can happen from time to time. As pewter is often poured into a mould it traps a lot of air in the casting making it brittle in some places. Because of this it is next to impossible to fix.

You could try locktite or perhaps a metal specific glue and see how that goes.

I'd try JB Weld. You'll have to make sure you get all of the super glue off, but if you prep the surfaces properly, it should stay together fine.

I second JB Weld.

Also, if you're feeling up to it, you could try drilling some really small holes and adding some pins - essentially what's done when Warhammer figurines are modified. I haven't done this myself, but you should be able to do a quick web search for a tutorial.
