Dear All,

Firstly, this is my first post on the forum. I've been hanging around for a while and thought it was time to pick ome of the brains here for some advice... :)

My question relates to a set of TK stormtrooper armour whichI have. It has a few hairline cracks in it, in those areas where it has been curved (presumeably where a heat gun has been used)

Would anyone know the best way of filling in hairline cracks without having to to a complete filler, sand, paint job? These cracks are probably only 1cm max.

(Oh, i'm in the UK BTW)

thanks

shiv

i would suggest you back plate the stress makes on the inside with ABS to strenghten and keep from getting worst and then use NOVUS#3 for deep scrathes and then a lot of buffing .
this might help you? good luck
cheers

On my armor, I did one of two things where it was starting to stress crack, if it was a large crack I glued it and reinforced it from the back with small pieces of styrene, if it was a small part, the superglue and tshirt method:

Get the armor prepped from the back just to roughen it up, then cut a small piece of white tshirt the rough size you need, apply it to the armor, then give it a good soaking with superglue, keep pushing it down to the armor, I used tweezers, this acts as a very solid bond, and it should hold a long, long time, then trim any exces off

hope this helps, by the way im in the uk too so if you need any help drop me a pm on here or the ukg

Thanks Guys,
The t-shirt method sounds like a great idea....cheap and cheerful
I also looking at getting some fibreglass tape as I hear that is a good way also to re-enforce the armour.... I want to just bond this to all stress points, I think this method will be cleaner....
