Fitting YOUR Spidey Eyes without faceshell

Hey all!

Between funding my college, apartment, bills, spidey costume etc, I'm unable to afford purchasing a faceshell to position my eyes on my Spidey Suit. It's an Orhadar print with TJack lenses and I really want to work around my disadvantage! I still have to try and get the lenses to curve and then fit them to my mask in a way that looks seamless.

Has anyone here successfully fitted their eyes without purchasing a faceshell, but still managed to make their eyes look good? I suppose I can 'make' my own faceshell, but then i'm worried the curves will be too steep etc.

I'd say it turned out pretty good. It's a modded zentai that I did it on. 10639225314_d5b19e89cf_z.jpg

The lenses look amazing, great job!
What I was thinking of doing was mark where my eyes go/make my eye holes and possibly fill the mask with something to replicate a face.

Yeah I would say that would be the safest way to go. I had to really make the eyes symmetrical by eying it. I got lucky with how mine turned out :)

the foam heads by the way are only like $5, it's pretty cheap. I got mine at Hobby Lobby

You can also cast your face in aluminum foil and strengthen it with clay mache and use that to curve your lenses, or even make a duct tape dummy version of your head if you have friends you trust with your life to not cover up your airways while they saran, tape, and free you.

Thats also another good alternative, possibly even just filling the foil with something may work to.

I have TJacks faceshell and am having a similar issue with putting the frames on. I was debating to use the shell as my "base" to stretch the material out and glue from there. Obviously the shell would be covered in seran wrap or tinfoil so not to permanently glue the frames and mask to the shell. Why arent I using the shell with magnets? I find getting it under the mask very troublesome and far too tight.

By any chance do you know of a suit or picture that uses the smaller Verison? Curios to how they both look. Want to really replicate the amazing spiderman 2 suit.

Here is a picture of me wearing the smaller lenses.

Thank you again Lunaman, I really appreciate it - this isn't the first time you've lent your sage advise to me :)

Cheers, mate. And yes, that's the basic process. If you don't want to deal with the hassles of paper mache strips and paste, you can simply buy an air-drying fiber clay like Clay Mache or Creative Paperclay that will be a lot more user-friendly and simpler to deal with.

Managed to get these glued on. Used a styrofoam head and voila. The bottom parts of the frames were a tad tricky given the structure of the face.

How did you glue the frames on, did you glue around the whole frame if that makes sense? Or just a dab at the top and bottom etc..
