Fitting an Exactra bubble strip and circuit board into the Vader ESB saber?

Anyone tried it? I've spent the last two hours filing and sanding down both the circuit board and Exactra lens and still can't get them to fit. :angry

Should I keep going? They're starting to look too thin!

Oh, I'm using part of an Exactra circuit board, not an HP44.

You're probably the first to try. Perhaps the metal lip of the clamp needs to be lifted a bit.

Thats what I had to do to get my calc bubbles into my clamp.

I was about to say, where ever that tread went where it showed an ORIGINAL ESB/ROTJ saber... there CLEARLY was some prying on the clamp in order for the bubble strip to fit.

That's what I had to do to cram my circuit boards and lenses in.

Didn't want to damage a real MPP clamp, but looking at those pictures you guys are right! :confused

Is there any way to shave down a little on the top of the sides to fit it in?

Wow looks like they went to town on that thing with some pliers. If I were you I'd try to find some steel sheet that will fit into the clamp to use as resistance when bending. This way you'll at least be bending the lip evenly.:thumbsup

Decided to keep my real MPP as ANH though and the Larbel as ESB (didn't really want to drill all those holes in a real MPP). Also added the blue wire and grip screws.

Uh oh, just noticed something totally heinous, man. The blue wire goes on the bottom, switch them dang thangs around! :lol

Where'd you get your wires, btw? They look pretty darn good.

Did you realize that by putting the screws through your grips made that saber a ROTJ saber and not ESB?
The ESB did not have the screws.

BTW, I still haven't seen anyone nail the wires for the ESB/ROTJ.
Kurtyboy's looks the closest so far though. :thumbsup

Looks great Is it just me or does the bubble strip need filing down a bit on the grip end ?
The one on the real prop doesn't look to have a complete bubble.

To be honest I didn't realise that Gino, but they're only Blast-Tech grips so its no big deal. I'll call it the Vader ESB/ROTJ hero saber!

I actually cheated with the blue wire, I just painted the old brown one using the Humbrol trooper decal paint. :$
