First showoff post!

Hello, Everyone,

This is my first showoff post. I hope it passes muster.

The following are costumes my Ex-Wife and I put together a couple of years ago for some fans with limited budgets. She made all the fabric parts, and I built all of the props and hard bits. I just wish I had more time and money.

Darth Maul's cloak was made with 24 yards of fabric, pleated over and over to match the look of the DK books. The horns are cut from a cheap-o Halloween Maul bald cap and superglued to his freshly shaved head. A little putty for the seams and some hand painted tattoo make up followed. He bought some flame colored contacts and we blackened and yellowed his teeth to finish him off.

The Tusken Raider was alot more fun for me. His head was a one-afternoon rush job using a kid's toy army helmet as the base. With 'From Star Wars to Indiana Jones' as my guide, I cut and applied scrap leather, epoxy putty teeth, and lots of watered down sepia ink. The 'spikes' are cake decorating tips,
the bloodspitters are ballpoint pen tubes, and the entire thing is wrapped with strips cut from a korean war era khaki tent. The sand collector is a Pep Boys fuel filter covered in leather. Robes are made with a set of nasty tan drapes the Ex found in my mother-in-law's garage. It had a nice open weave to it and boo-coo stains.

The Gaffi stick is my pride and joy, a real Totokia brought back from Fiji nine years ago by the Fiji trade comissioner himself. The customer did NOT keep that one.

I know the bandoleers are not accurate, but with seven bucks left in the budget, WWII era B.A.R. pouches are all we could come up with. I have since picked up a pair of swedish leather five-pockets to complete this costume next time it goes out.

Thanks for looking.

Those are awesome dude. :thumbsup

Well done for a budget costume.

That Maul really captures the attitude. Love the pleats and HUGE hood. Right on. Great job on the Tusken mask as well. Having seen some fan made masks up close and personal, yours is a winner.
