First Pep Build Iron Man Helmet

After reading through lots of threads and looking at tons of pictures I decided to try my own project. So here is my first attempt at the Iron Man Mark VI Helmet.

Well heres an update. I finished my pep work on the helmet. Its not perfect, but I think its pretty good for a first time.

And this is how I attached the faceplate and jaw for resining. Hopefully it will keep everything straight and be easy to seperate after it hardens.

I've seen some of you guys who had mannequins, heres mine!!!

Very clean! I'm starting the exact same helmet too. I have all of the major pieces done, but I just need to work on the little things. Seeing your photo on how that part sticks out from the rest of the helmet (photo #2) is a huge help. I'm a little bummed that now I'm probably going to have to take that part apart, but I'm glad I saw it now while I'm still in that area.

Good idea on the paper clips too! Pretty crafty! ahha

hey bxsicecold, your helmet looks awesome so far. I am working on the same exact one right now. Mine ended up being entirely too big though. I will have to scale it down and start over. Long term I am working on a whole suit. can't wait to see how yours turns out.

Thanks you. It really made a huge difference when I put it all together with the clips.

Mine is also too big. But it was great practice. I put some pics to show how it fits me. I am going to finish this one out and them build a second one. I "plan" on doing a whole suit. LOL

Since my first helmet was way to big I pepped out the tester helmet. I scaled it down to .93 this time. Its definatley much narrower but I think the depth is still to big for my head. Maybe I should scale it down some more. What do you guys think?

Nice work on the sharkmark, not a easy helmet to pep just completed that one myself! I recommend gluing the face plate to the helmet and cutting it off in the finishing stage, you will get a MUCH better fit to the two parts if done in the finishing stage. I look forward to your progress

Thank you for the advice. I thought it might be better to resin the whole thing together and the "pull" it apart before bondo. But I will trust your advice. I've seen your work, it's great!!! What scale did you use?
