While i agree on the organic webbing issue, i have always wanted to see the mechanical ones... that said my favourite idea is the middle ground that pleases both schools of thought. organic web glands but with no real way of controling the flow or web pattern, so the mechanical device is not a shooter per se, but a web focusing / flow / pattern controller like a mechanical spinnerette. more believable that way to me and not beyond the realms of belivabilty.

Hey... you know what... that actually works for me very good idea... I hope thats what they are going for.

As for the costume being the wrestling suit.... dear god I hope so...

I think that's just glare from the taillights of a car. If you look at the full pic, you can clearly see a red glare on the BLUE part of his costume... It'd have to be a pretty bright red light to cast that kind of glare and would certainly make the eyes look pink.

I dont think it is the glare of a taillight...if you look at the larger picture...the reflection of the light only hits his shoulder....and there is no other glare in the picture...even on the white lights on the ground show no indication of the glare...i dont think the galre would make the whole lens look pink

It might be that rather than a tail-light it's the strobe from a distant fake NYC police light-bar strobe. The fact that his whole front isn't bathed in red light is probably due to the fact that the reflective lens is just catching more light. If there's a large white wall ahead of him at an angle the red light is bouncing on then you'd get that kind of reflection in mirrored surfaces.

But if it is intentional, then it's even worse for the overall look.

the red lenses are deffinatly glare from something, you can see red glare on the black edges of the lense and on the front of the face. the red eyes would make no sense at all, you can even see white eyes in some of the other screen caps.

Here's one I haven't seen posted. The boots look to be a deliberate part of the costume (why not just paint them red if not). Also you can see the transparent lenses a bit better (that part could be just because he's doing a stunt.)

The silver on the boots makes sense from a designer standpoint.

If the character needs to have silver webspinners attached to his wrists then adding silver elements to the boots repeats the same color idea on the other appendages as well. This creates a more balance visual appearance overall.

I think the whole thing is a bad idea but I can see the internal logic behind the choices made here.

if they really wanted to tie in the silver then they should have given him a silver spider on his chest and silver fingers. :lol

add some green, orange and purple in there and you can just call the movie "RainbowMan"

I think in those scenes Spidey was running behind that pickup truck so I'm guessing the light is from tail-lights but who knows... I just enjoy speculating

And if you compare it to the art from that comic book mini-series, the wrestling costume also had more translucent eyes. Granted, the theory could be wrong but it really seems to me that this is probably the wrestling costume and seeing Spidey running through traffic makes me think that this might just be where he's chasing down Uncle Ben's killer. It would also make sense for the fancy silver shoe things if it is a wrestling costume instead of his final costume design.

The only thing that makes me SORTA feel like this is his wrestling suit if the fact that the official photo shows him with his backpack. Would make sense of him walking home after the whole "uncle Ben chase".

I think this will be the suit we see 90% of the time in this film at least. I do suspect that we will be a more comic accurate version in the second film.

And another thing that occurred to me from what we've seen from the Iron Man movies is that multiple costume changes also equals more action figures and, as we all know, oftentimes more money comes from action figure sales than movie ticket sales.

Heck, Captain America is going to have at least two costumes - the USO performance version and then the more serious version after he proves he's good at more than just putting on a show for the troops. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Captain America ends with him waking up in modern days and getting a third costume for that matter.

Using the wrestling stuff as an evolution of Spider-Man's costume kind of makes sense. It gives them an excuse to shoe-horn in another version to make action figures of.

Not to mention, it just seems really, really stupid to not show the more classic suit at SOME POINT in the movie, y'know? Even if it's in the last 10 minutes... at least we'd be seeing something that was meant to be different for a better reason than "hey, let's put stripes down his legs."

But can he bend his middle toes enough to make the classic gesture? And if the button is under his toes, wouldn't he shoot webbing every time he took a step? :lol That could be awkward.
