I think I'm going nuts? I have only 2 more days before I go back to work do I just had to paint something...its been driving me mad not painting for this long. Thankfully My E wing arrived last week so I thought that this must be the easiest/quickest build, due to talented duo that made the kit. I was going to go all weird & paint it like a guitar, then an X wing, then a Mad Max style interceptor, then I thought I wonder If this would look good Like Slave 1........ Lets find out I thought. I started kit bashing & doing a few custom mods here & there just to get the feel of it & to give it my own unique look. All the paint work was started this afternoon so I am motoring on this to get as much done as I can. Its a base coat of a vauxhall off white rattle, then a weird green Ford color in a rattle & all the rest is mixed from my Tamiya stock. I have done all this so far with out looking at Slave ref, I wanted to know how well I knew it in my head, the markings obviously dont follow the real Slave 1, but I am trying to capture the feel of the ship in this E wing. Its also extremely good practice incase I ever do manage to get one from our resident casting guru ??????

This is ment to be fun & a good way of learning new stuff, I always try & do new things when I paint & whilst my Y is on hold for a short while I shall try & finnish this up. Hope it doesn't look too weird????

The colors dont come through in the light at home so I will take some daylight shots when I get a chance.

Great concept - doing a slave 1 scheme!

The weathering looks very nice. Looks like fun :)

Just beautiful, Guy!:cool

It literally has peeling paint- bloody fantastic! Hey, what are you using for masking medium there?

Re: Firespray E wing hybrid

The green really evokes the monochromatic hues of the Cam Kennedy E-Wing from Dark Empire (which is where it made its debut, if I recall?). Very nice!

Re: Firespray E wing hybrid

That looks fantastic! Strange idea but it works great. For a moment I thought you´d put the engines above the wings, which would be quite funny because this is what I did with my (still unfinished) scratched 1:48 E-Wing.
Waiting for more...:)
