FireFly - Should I start watching it?

I'm glad this thread was started. I have also been asking myself this question for a while now. I never watched the show (no real reason I didn't watch it, I just didn't). I have on occasion, flipped by it a few times when they have played marathons of it, but it was never at the beginning. I would watch about fifteen minutes or so of it and just think to myself "I don't really see what's the big deal about this." But granted, I wasn't starting at the beginning and my feelings could be (and probably are) due to the fact that I had no clue who these people were or what was going on.

I keep telling myself I'm going to get the series on dvd some day and actually watch it all from the beginning, but I've just never gotten around to it.

Sinking $700 into my N-scale Serenity model was my coping mechanism for the movie whiplash. Still working on it slowly but surely. So many projects to fiddle with right now.

Definitely worth the watch. Really, I enjoy it for the tech, universe, and banter.

DO NOT watch a marathon on SyFy. The episodes are butchered and the constant commercials will make you turn it off. Watch it on Netflix, borrow the DVD's or better yet, BluRay.

I was told to watch it by several people and I ignored them for years as just fans of some oddball sci-fi western show.

Then I watched it and could not believe it took me so long... Well worth a watch!

Great show. Terrible theme song.

Picked up the entire series on DVD for 7.99 and it is a worthwhile watch. Fairly certain it would have never been cancelled with a better song on the intro.

Never mind. I looked it up. Didn't realize they'd release more and at least one of them actually moving into the future beyond the Serenity film. I'd read future comics, but I got a little tired of the "This all happened between Firefly and Serenity" stuff.

Soooooo many crappy shows gets renewed... and so many great shows don't even get a full first season :facepalm
The only thing better than the characters in Firefly are the people portraying them.
My first introduction tho the 'verse was Serenity and my first thought was: "Summer is playing another oddball?" Since I had just seen her in The 4400. And quickly realized that was very wrong. River is... different and really unique.

Jayne and that hat.... always makes me laugh :lol

If that is how you feel about TSCC, DON'T DO IT!!!!

You will be heartbroken in the end! :lol

At least Firefly got a follow-up film. TSCC gets no love
