Hello all!
It's been ages since anyone did a new Firefly prop that hasn't been replicated before. This is a kit I've been tinkering with for a while- a very iconic prop from "War Stories": Niska's "Torture Spider"!

It can be displayed with arms extended or (manually) retracted. Or just make it look like it's climbing up your Mal pistol or something...!
Run is over. In the future, these will be available occasionally as one-offs.
Count on 2-3 weeks before they ship out just to be safe, because I'd like to ship in batches of at least 5. Note: The bottom piece (optional as it's not on the screen prop) is included; it just wasn't done when I took the kit photo. Brass tube (5/8 or 16mm) will be included IF I can find a reliable local supply- for some reason it's hard to get 'round here.
Assembly tips:
This is more or less a one day build. I recommend superglue for assembly and if you use the 6 supplied pins for articulation, you'll have to carefully trim the holes to make them fit, but they should be a little tight or the legs with move too loosely. (The three slightly smaller pegs are for the "knuckle", the other three are for the joints to the body.) You will also have to trim the "pegs" on the base a little. The parts are small and delicate, so don't try to force them. Glue one "wall" in place first, then add the next along with one arm and finally the last one with the last two arms. (Use tape to help hold them if needed.) The separate "claw" halves each has a hole in case you want to pin them with wire for extra strength. Wet-sand once-over with 120, then spray with filler-primer. Wet-sand with 400 grit, then spray with semi-gloss black. Finally dry-brush with gunmetal and/or silver metallic.
Cheers!
