Fire Spray 31 patrol and attack craft from Oovo IV prison

Re: Slave-1

Man didnt see the vacforming part until now. That is one heck of a job! Always wanted to do this ever since I read your A-wing thread but dont wanna end my marriage. Maybe I can try it when the wife is not hone but are there any noticeable fumes?

You are going to smell the plastic as it heats up
for sure i leave a window open and a fan on
at times. As soon as the plastic cools you
won't smell it anymore, so I would say leave
the window open during and a bit after. I have
never become dizzy or light headed from heating
plastic but I am far from doing it every day.

You can do it outdoors on the gas grill also......
the plastic doesn't know the difference! LOL

Make her like a vacuum formed custom
lamp shade she will love you! LOL

Re: Slave-1

Been working on this..... I took the FM Slave
and cut it into sections, after gluing in the ramp
underneath. I took them and had them enlarged,
I cut out the shapes and traced them onto the styrene.

Port side stations glued to keel.

Back to the rear skirt for some sanding, it looks lumpy
because it is that's why I am sanding it. I used the big piece
of glass from the gazebo that is inside for the winter.

Cleaned up now and sitting pretty flat...

I cut these pieces from the kit so I didn't have to
try to get them drawn on there freehand....which
would have been a nightmare, I had them enlarged
also.

Dremeled out and sanded.....I still ended up with 3mm at the curve
where the keel line ends, and 2.8mm down on the sides where I
made the cut outs.

Re: Slave-1

Looking ace!!! :thumbsup

Will you try to catch the wonkyness of the original or go for a clean look?

Re: Slave-1

Love the vac-form! I take it you made it? Do you have any plans for it??

Glad you're making a Slave 1 with it, probably my favorite Star Wars ship! Subscribed!!

Re: Slave-1

Thanks guys...:thumbsup

Jabberwocky.....No I don't have any plans I just made it...LOL

Working on the tail, I am trying to make it in
two separate halves so it can be laid down
when I go to form it.

I added the next section it still needs the cross sections,
This is in two halves as well....it would be a pretty tall
part to form as one shape, and the plastic would probably
thin out a bit to much. I am going to get everything filled
while it's all one part, then I can dismantle everything before
I form it. I have some more pics I will post later .....thanks for
looking.

Re: Slave-1

You and your "basic modeling skills resulting in amazing things!". By that I mean excellently planned and executed.

I admire how you can just do it...awesome!

Re: Slave-1

Your work is always bold and dynamic in a good way!
That's what I can hardly do.

Master modeler!!
