Fire Fly / Serenity Mal's Gun Comparison

I would like to see how much difference there is between the 2 different versions of Mal's gun

If they are really close it might be possible to buy 2 and turn one in to a Fire Fly Pistol.



Here is a trimmed down and rotated image of the QMX version, I don't have any images of the real gun from Fire Fly so if you have one please post it below.

Once we have 2 images we can discuss the differences

QMX has so far only shown photos of the actual filming prop. Also, I think the QMX is the stunt version. Maybe this resin version is cast fromt the hero or a modified Firefly version?

Aside from the physical differnces, the Serenity gun has a totally different finish. You'd be better of with a Phillipes casting ans start from scratch.

Yeah, no reason to "destroy" a limited edition licenced prop, when an actual Firefly resin cast is already available.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried to metal-plate their resin Firefly pistols like the QMX Serenity versions are? Would it be an impossibly difficult process? I've never worked with resin or molten metal, so...

And is a very reasonable price at that. I don't know if Phil is still selling them, but I have one and it's clean, clean, clean. One of the best castings I've ever gotten.

A member had a limited supply of screen-cast Firefly Mal pistol's that were sold here. They crop up on Ebay occasionally.

I have nothing really to add that hasn't already been said, other than the title of the thread should be "Firefly" instead of "Fire Fly".
