FINISHED Thane Mass Effect 2 [photo heavy]

Hi guys!

I've been working on a Thane sculpt for a bit now and this weekend just cast him in plaster. Here's some WIP shots and some finals of the bust.

The Thane sculpt is mine; the Mordin and the Asari were by two friends of mine who were casting at the same time.

And now of them in plaster. We won't crack these for a week or so to give the Ultracal time to dry.

More updates when I get a latex pull!

Thank you for the compliment! It'll be at least two weeks before I can update on this project. This Thane (and Mordin and Asari) will be at PAX in April. I've already finished the jacket:

Those sculpt are amazing, it's interesting how you can go from something that looks silly to something that's so detailed.

Those are both some awe inspiring sculpts. I like the Salarian more, but that's me. Did you sculpt this on a head cast?

I'll pass the compliment on Mordin on to my friend who worked on him.

All of these were sculpted on those foam heads, and clay built up to get to the correct head dimensions.

Update!

Did my first pull and now have a mask to play with. The seams are a bit ugly, but I'll fix that soon... and this weekend I toss on the paint!

In case anyone is interested, I have a Junkyard thread on this mask.

I threw the first layer of paint on him today. Acrylic/prosaide mix so it will stretch a bit.

Clearly this is not the final color, but I wanted it to be a darker color for the base coat so those undercuts would pop.

I've opened up a junkyard thread if anyone is interested in a latex cast.

Just sealed this up. Beauty shots coming this weekend when my friend tries it on with the jacket/jumpsuit.

You can see the flash makes a difference...

And for funsies. Here's me in it (don't have the lenses in yet). I bet Thane only wears this shirt if FemShep asks nicely.
