Finished a 1/2256 ISD scratchbuild

I really like how your LED's are not all the same color. That seems to be the case in most builds. I few varied colors adds a whole depth of realism to a build IMO.

Wow, one of the nicest all round ISD builds ive seen, regardless of size.
You have nailed the detailing in the sense it portrays the scale of this huge ship, and the lighting and paint job just ice a great cake, really amazing work......im jealous, 'cos i want one :lol

I'll take your word for it that it's not accurate...but it is outstanding. I can't imagine anyone quibbling about the inaccuracy when faced with the quality of the work.

In every single aspect this is a brilliant build. The details and parts used in it are perfect for the scale and the hull panel line work is indistinguishable from ILM. Thats the most accurate reproduction paint work yet on an SD, nailed it dead on the head.The engine array at the back is superb,by some margin the best I have seen on any SD build so far, and you are up against some stiff competition, I allmost wept with envy when I saw it. Guns,superstructure, bay detail, even the cranes- superb work for any model, scratchbuilt its awesomely done. And you say its not accurate!!! Guess Leonardo thought the same about the Mona Lisa. From my point of view I'm TELLING you thats a masterpiece!

You did an awesome job! Don't worry about it. Stardestroyers are huge ships, and they aren't all identical. Each one is equipped for it's intended job, and some details will be different. Minor changes and improvements in design will also create variations. Your ship is unique, but part of the fleet :thumbsup

Even real Navy ships from the same class have differences.

That is a thing of beauty. I wish I could build models as "inaccurate" as that. Nice work.

The proportions are probably not correct, but while the shape of the ship look easy to reproduce, it's a nightmare (I should say near to impossible) to get the correct angles and right proportions.
Anyway, it doesnt show on your build. It looks perfect ! You tried to replicate every part used on the 8 footer which makes this ISD the more accurate ISD ever done.

Let me trace back the building progress. I started the build almost two and a half years ago from the main hulls. The basic hulls (upper and lower) structures were built by styrene sheets (from 0.5mm to 1.5mm). Since I didn’t made a detailed measurement and all the information I got was only from exhibition photos and books such as the Star Wars Chronicles and Sculpting a Galaxy, the proportion of the hulls were not quite accurate. Anyway I’m still happy about the final outcome. I didn’t detailed up the hulls (such as scribing, adding tiny plates…etc) until the mid-stage of the build. Here are some photos showing the shape and form of the hulls.

It is a MR Falcon. Nothing special with it because it always appears in this forum. What I want you to note is its display case. It has two usages. Besides a display case, it is also a table.love
