Finally took the plunge and painted/weathered my JAWS barrel from the Murphy's

Like some other folks I managed to pick up a production used JAWS barrel from Sue Murphy. They're the identical found barrels to those painted yellow for the Orca, but were actually used to float barges on set. This one was its original unpainted black with blue caps when it arrived.

It was sitting in my driveway with priority mail stickers and my wife called to say, " I think the mob sent you a body." :lol

After debating to leave it as is or weather it... I finally decided to go for it. TBH I just think it makes a better display. I used regular old Krylon in the hopes that if I wanted to reverse it, a blast with the pressure washer would do the trick. I covered it with several light coats of paint with some time in between each coat to get the coverage i wanted. Then I used what I had on hand to beat it up (stack of scrap pallet wood, a scrubber sponge and good old fashioned real dirt :thumbsup). I tried to keep it moderate for now thinking I can always add more. Overall couldn't be happier with the result. Hope you like it!

Thanks guys! The office/man cave is still being put together. Maybe I could take down a wall and expand... Or pop out a window and do a 1:1 Orca deck/pulpit :)
