Fifth Element Stusio scale Taxi miniatures

Hello all,

I've briefly spoken to Matt Munson regarding the various sizes of the Korben Dallas Taxi but obviously he's quite hard to get hold of as he's travelling in Europe right at the moment.
Does anyone know what size the hero Taxi miniature was or have any decent reference for it?
Cheers -

Anson

Hi,

I dont know how big the Taxi car was, but my Police car is 36", so the Taxi should be something like that.
Here is a picture of the big taxi miniature.
(I belive this is a prototype cast? I think they changed some of the design.)

The different cars where made in other sizes aswell, I belive the police car was made in a 11" miniature also.

Calling Matt Munson.... calling Matt Munson.... :)

BTW Coinprop, proto or not... that is freaking beautiful..........

Thanks man. ;)
Here is a picture of my "miniature" 36" police car. Without the roof top lightbar. Enjoy.

Again...I dont think they used that many different sizes. What I've heard they did one BIG and one smal, and the size in inch was 11" and approx 36".
Hope this helps?.

As far as I can tell, there were four scales all together. There may have been more, but they are unknown to me.

1. Full size, one to one.
2. 36". Same scale as the big cop car and taxi/proto you see above.
3. 11". Very common on ebay, and even on the RPF. i've got about four or five different styles of this size.
4. 3". Not sure if they were used in filming, but there were a large number of three inch cars made. Possibly as maquettes? I don't know. I have about five or six different styles.

The car pictured in the first pic above is indeed some kind of weird taxi lookalike. I have a couple of those, and it's still a mystery to me. it looks a WHOLE lot like the taxi, but the front grille is different. Maybe they modified this pull into the taxi?? Maybe it's just another 36" car they made?? I dunno. I have a pal who worked on the movie, I should run it by him.

By the way, if anyone wants one of those big taxi things, send me a PM.

Yes, I forgot about the 1:1 scale car.
The 3" car was news to me :) cool....that size is much more handy.

PM Sent there Matt...

I would really like to get a hold of one of those 36 inch taxi's and do a real nice paint number on it.

Agreed... this is a definite must have soon.

I have already begun talking to Richard about Matt's piece for paint-up ideas.

The Taxi in the picture that I posted (the first) is for sale.
So If You are interested, PM me about it.

How about some reference shots of the taxi? Screen shots? Some pics from the making of books?
