I finnished the two pieces of armour for the right shoulder today. I sculpted and molded them flat and then when they where cast a heated them with a hot air gun a bent them to the curve that would fit her shoulder
So iv been a bit lazy the past few days and not got much done (too much snorkeling in the see and drinking mojitos in beach bars) but I got the dreads attached the photos are not great. I used an old baseball cap cut the peak off and sprayed expanding foam on the back to get a basic shape of then hot glued on the dreads, once iv got everything aligned properly ill cover the whole cap in latex, im trying to keep everything as light as possible
Got the fibreglass done on top of the silicon mould, it dont look to pretty but its adequate to hold the mould in shape for casting.i cant do the but armour yet until the crotch armour is removed as they are overlapping pieces and i have to extend the sculpt of staps
This is really coming along fast. I like the way you brought the thigh piece around the leg in the back. have you thought of casting this in latex ? Since you have a silicone mold you should be able to do it. The flex of the latex would help in fit better, flex and not slide down. My mold is latex or else I would give it a try.
I was originally going to do it in latex but I thought id do it in resin first and see how it fitted and so far its a good fit and wont restrict movement but once I get a strap fitted to go around the inside of the thigh things could be different but so far its looking good
