Female Human Hunter

Thank ei'luj :) Yeah, heehee, yeah I saw your work ;) I was really glad when the textured leather came up as I didn't want to appear to be copying- being new here and all I have though been interested in cuir bouille for a while now but especially for my historical costuming (I need a cutlery holder-lederfutteral- for one). Unfortunately this leather is not good for boiling. The paint and imprinted texture makes it warp too much. Sigh. But it worked for this project nicely.

Now that the cat is out of the bag, I get to reply to threads I have wanted to for about a month

And if my friend an I can get to CC..... oh yeah we are so meeting you guys!

Thanks for the props its not boiled, although the bio "bowl" section was run under hot water and shaped till it was correct.....
Not to worry about building on others' concepts, how does that saying go, "imitation the best form of flattery"
I'm a couple hours from SanDiego, how 'bout y'all?

About 15 flying I'm in Auckland, New Zealand.

I already had an idea to do leather armour before coming over here, seeing the examples here kind of pushed me to try a different look, I loved how yours looked and it made me think of other options within the medium :) My concept sketch is rather more obviously hide based (I figured any human is going to have to have the armour cut down or made from some other material... rynth hide for example.. ;) ) then I got distracted by all the texture on the hottoys figure.... I wanted to be able to stamp and press some other smooth leather, but the textured stuff redirected me again

I forgot, I also want to add a spear to my kit.. an' a alien sheild anna big swored... Sorry, Hogfather reference there. But I would like to get a nice sword, shielld and spear as well as the back pack and bio already on the must finish list.

I am about 8 hours from San Diego, if our suits are done by July both myself & my Girl will be there, along with One End & few of our other friends.

Em, I cant wait to see the new suit with all the enhancements you have planned. if its as good as its one, you will DEFINANTLY look the part (well more so than you already do :) )

Thanks :) It'll take a while, I am not even able to tidy up let alone make anything for a good few weeks. Sigh. Learning to be left handed is really tough :/
(Making this costume triggered a bit of a nasty tendon issue I have had in the past and may lead to surgery later- I want to avoid that funnily enough...)

The costume looks really great! The long hair is perfect with the armor, along with the colour your hair has.
Waiting to see how the progress goes.

ColleKotton: Thanks It'll be a while but it'll get there. I do need to take some wool inner soles to the shoes though. Line every part of them with the sheepie stuff

NewPredMaker and MisserCraig: Thanks :D But there is still a lot of work to go. Could probably call this... Mark I though.

Das Colour :D Except I used white It is rather easier to work with than the regular das and has a smoother texture. It is still an air dry paper clay though so they don't do well with the wet. I just couldn't find my Sculpy III in time :p
