Favorite TV Series That Never Were...

Surprised no one has mentioned 1978’s “Star Trek: Phase II” starring the cast of the original “Star Trek” series on a newly refurbished Enterprise on a SECOND five year mission.

Or even "the Star Trek that never was":

Would've liked to have seen how Jeff Hunter and Majel Barrett handled things. And no, Disco is no substitute. Not even if they did a Pike spin-off series. Much as I appreciate Anson and Rebecca, I don't trust CBS to get the tone anywhere near right. What they're doing with Trek is the opposite of cerebral. And for those who like Disco, all I have to say is, if you don't like your sci-fi making you think, maybe it's not for you.

In other news, back the the thread-starting topic... It'd be kinda cool to see Disney tackle a resumption of the EarthStar Voyager story. It's been a little more than 26 years, but that was only a projection. ;) A la Twin Peaks: The Return, I think it'd be cool to pick up with them at the end of their journey -- without necessarily having had to slog through more than two decades of vessel maintenance and making sure they were still on course.

I also wish we could've gotten Battlestar Galactica as the self-contained miniseries Glen Larson wanted (and bits of which one can still pick out of the first season we got), with a clearer beginning, middle, and end of the story.

Then there's Legend of the Rangers. It was intended to be a new Babylon 5 series (or, at least, miniseries). As much as I wish Crusade had gotten a fair shake, at least it had more than the first episode. In general, I would've loved more B5 and wish it hadn't trailed off the way it did.
