I'm wondering if anyone here has (preferably successfully) tried painting faux leather, and if so, how you'd recommend doing it. I want to get some cheap faux leather gloves and paint one gold for Jaime Lannister's right hand and one silver for the Winter Soldier's left hand. During the summer, I tried using Krylon Fusion (my favorite spray paint) on samples of two different kinds of faux leather: one from a jacket I got at a local thrift shop and one from a jacket I got from an eBay seller in China. It worked just fine on the thrift shop sample, but (as I had been afraid would happen on both) it didn't dry properly on the sample from China. Are there any types of paints that might work better? Or, preferably, is there anything I could coat the gloves with first to make the paint adhere better? I was thinking of covering the gloves with a couple layers of Mod Podge before painting them, but I haven't had the chance to test that out yet.
