Hi every one
Any one know where I can get the best quality accurate replica of Chritons Whinonas gun.
In kit form or built?

Thanks

Ebay, if you can't find one of the Creation Entertainment screen cast ones get one of Wilco Model's kits, they're inexpensive and well cast.

I will second Wilco model Kits. I bought one of his off Ebay and It turned out so well.

Another thumbs up for the Wilco kit:

I replaced the tip on my sight with the tip from a keychain 'bullet' type laser, and added a red LED inside. Also drilled out the barrel a little.

Coz.

Its definitely a nice kit. I'm almost finished with mine and it takes less than the typical cleanup for a resin kit.

I just bought some black metallic paint for it, though I've read that some prefer a straight black coat with a dusting of silver.

I read somwhere that the production pistols where panted in a way to make them stand out more than just black.
I may try a metallic black like you did.

By the way are the kits solid or hollow for electronics,
Thanks

I don't mean any offense, but you've butched the names. First off, it's "Crichton" (like Michael Crichton), and it's Winona (like Winona Ryder).

When I did mine, I drilled out the barrel a bit too and I used a beautiful black metal flake automotive lacquer. I put several coats to get it to look good and I think that you can see the flake in it better than just painting it black and dusting it with silver.

Solid. You'll need some drilling and hacking skills to add electronics to it. I decided not to add any to mine since I'll be displaying it in a case with other items/patches from the series.

I have to agree that wilco is a great way to go. I have 3 of them here that I'm working on. (I'm adding electronics to them All. :) ) It's not that hard to mod them out, but they look good without electronics too.

As for paint. I like Krylon black textured metallic paint. (it's black, with silver flakes in it. It goes on textured, but if you let it set for a week or so, and then buff it with a soft cloth, it comes out more satiny. :) )

I'm a ways from having pics of my pistols though.

Who cares. We all knew what he was talking about, and both words are spelled funny, even when you spell them correctly. I wish more people got that this is the "Replica Prop Forum" not the "Proper Spelling Forum". (sorry, I'm just really tired of us bad spellers, getting a hard time, for something that shouldn't mater here.)

Even so. Spelling IS important, even if you get what people are saying. Changing the spelling of one word can mean the difference in meaning. Even a fictional character like Henry Fool gets it.

But back to the topic, which is about the Farscape pulse pistol, aka Crichton's gun, Winona.

definitely. spelling is mas importante man. proper grammar however can slide as far as capitalization and run on sentences.

haha.. mater. like Tuh-Mater, without the Tuh! XD

spelling is learned early in your school career and improper spelling is detrimental later in most academic classes, so... mas importante.

i think the only issue with the Wilco model is its a little thin, compare the front barrel area to any shot from the show and it looks squished horizontally. Either way, I have one :)

I couldn't disagree more, about the spelling. For those people that just don't spell well., IT IS NOT A SIGN OF LESS INTELEGENCE, and yet that is the implication around here. For those that can't spell, hassling them wont fix it. Constantly correcting them, wont fix it. Some people just can't do it. It's a left brain, right brain thing. Intelligence (witch you have from berth.) and Knowledge (with is what you learn, like spelling, and is something completely different. )

In my case, most test I have taken in life show me to be of far higher intelligence then most people. (not a genius, but smarter then the average bare. ) However, I am an awful speller, and have terrible grammar, and I really, just don't care.

Plus posters here on an international forum, my not even speak this language.

It's rood, and off putting to constantly correct people, and rankly its why, I barely feel like posting around here any more. And to this end, I wont be bring this up again, in this thread, since this is not what this thread is about.

Good luck on the pulse pistol, I've had a lot of them, and I see very little wrong with the Wilco, and a lot of good about it. (including the price.)

I wasn't hassling him in the start. I was just letting him know so that in the future, should he need to spell either one of the names, he'd know how to (trust me, there may be prop replica websites that are less friendly than we are here, and the last thing I want is for any prop replica community to lose a potential artist due to haggling him over his spelling). It's when jason1976 called me out which forced me to explain that spelling is an important thing sometimes.
