Interest Farscape Peacekeeper Wars PK Ident Chip

First, some background:

So recently I purchased an item from Propstore of London that was advertised as a "Promotional Peackeeper ID Tag". I have never seen this promo piece before, and I kept track of almost every Farscape piece of merchandise back in the day, especially props (as some of you may remember). It was also odd that if a promo piece, it has no copyright stamp anywhere. However what caught my eye about this piece regardless was that I recognized it as the exact base of what was used for the Peacekeeper Wars Ident Chips.

Different from the flat aluminum chips used during the show, this one is thicker, with indented and cutout details, and an attached necklace hole on the top. If this was indeed a promo piece, or crew gift at some point, I believe this is what the prop dept later used the mold when they needed some for PK Wars (much in the same way that they used the Creation Ent. pulse rifles and other available replicas and items at the time because of the small budget). This exact chip design can be seen below on Braca, and a closer shot of one from a PK Officer costume that was auctioned off ages ago.

So as for the run, I'm molding this metal promo chip and will cast copies in resin like the originals, that will then be painted with automotive Silver, inset details painted and then covered with a weathering wash as shown, and finish with a black deer hide strap that they used on these versions. I plan to keep the price around $30-40. I'll be molding this and making a few for myself regardless of interest, just figured I'd see if there are still any Farscape fans around here.

If there is preferred interest, I could also do coldcast aluminum powder resin versions for added weight and metal appearance, but that would obviously cost more.

Yeah I just dont have any of the hardware for pewter casting. If i had a list of 20 people interest, i could do it, but I dont see that happening.

First couple copies. One has a hammered metal texture just to try it out.

Any more interest if i invested the money do do these in pewter? They would obviously cost more.

With the necklace ring removed, these are also the exact same mold used for the data chip created by Talyn showing Aeryn and Crais... recreating.

Hi. Sent a PM, but didn't hear back. So I'll post here too.

I'm interested in 1 ident chip, and 1 data chip. Both in pewter, and smooth (not hammered texture).

One way you could increase the list to 20 people interested, is to count a data chip among that. Maybe save money by using the same mold as the ident chip, and just remove the necklace ring?

If you're unable to cast in pewter, I'll accept a downgrade to coldcast aluminum powder resin for both items.

Didnt get the PM, weird. Sorry about that. At this point with 6 people i dont think id be able to make enough back to justify spending $100 on pewter casting supplies I would need. But I may end up doing it anyway for my own curiosity. I'll keep the thread updated.

Please do, even if you do a cold cast I'd probably still be interested. But I'd be interested in seeing progress pictures as well. :)

I vote: yes.

A cast from the real item would be nice. But you wrote that casting in pewter would require you to buy supplies.

The prop is sort of 2D. If you have calipers and drawing software, you could outsource the build to a company that can cut and engrave aluminium.

Yeah the point of it is that it’s cast from what appears to be the same item used for production so machining one kind of defeats the purpose. I may end up investing in the pewter hardware for other projects as well anyway.

Bit late to the thread but just stumbled across this via the listing on the UK prop store. Would love to buy a replica (pref not weathered) if shipping to Australia is doable!
