Re: Warehouse 13 Prop Research - The Farnsworth

Has anyone come up with a source for the proper push button?

Can't speak for anyone else by I haven't found the correct one yet. The ones I have found seem to have a black button that's slightly too large in diameter.
Im going to keep looking....If worse comes to worse, Ill just file around the edges until the diameter matches.

Re: Warehouse 13 Prop Research - The Farnsworth

That's the off-brand aluminum box with a silver styrene faceplate and knobs, etc. The black box is a Wheatley with a brass plate. The styrene was cut out with an X-acto knife, cleaned up with needle files. The brass is faily thin, so I cut it out with my scroll saw and a small coping saw blade.

Nice BrundelFly, ordered one. I was happy there was only $5 in shipping but even happier when they took off $5 at checkout for "5000 rewards points". I guess you get the points when you register.
Thanks for the link.

SCRATCH THAT. They are out of gold, of coarse they only tell you that after you order.

Well it looks like these are discontinued. Get them while you can. What a crock, they probably sold more of these in the last month than ever and now they discontinue them.

Re: Warehouse 13 Prop Research - The Farnsworth

I ended up going to the source too. Thanks

Here are some tubes i have gathered for the Tesla. The big tube is an EL34. It's new but had a busted locating pin so i wasn't going to use it anyways, the plates look close but have slits instead of holes and it had a ceramic base so it is tapered. Close enough for me. The rear tubes are both a little long i think, but if i can't source something shorter i will use these. I also plan on fitting tube sockets so i can change them out if i either find better ones later or break one. The knob is close but too big and the pointer runs into the knob portion, again if i can't find something more suitable i will use it. The smaller long tube is a 6GK6 and the bigger tube is a 17BF11. Anyone ID'd the grip yet? I've seen something like it before but can't remember where.

thanks to a fellow member, I aquired some nice Artie sound clips. here is the resulting sound clip that should JUST fit on the YaddaYadda recorder. Two ringings, the pickup sound, static, and classic Artie line.

and man the speaker on this thing sucks, the voice sounds horrible...might have to upgrade the speaker...

Re: Warehouse 13 Prop Research - The Farnsworth

tonight while gluing one of the jewel "lenses" on my temp faceplate, i stumbled across what may be casuing the weird things we're seeing under it in screencaps and the irregularities among them.

When i sanded the chrome off the back a little and glued it to the styrene with the yellow layer peeled off (exposing a chrome silver layer) the glue and a few cuts i scratched accidently into the chrome layer began to crack and separate, creating the effect we see.

not sure, but could explain it.

Re: Warehouse 13 Prop Research - The Farnsworth

Has anyone given any thought as to what the rectangle between the two lens's might be for? It would seem that it was to serve some purpose, I just can not think what.

Re: Warehouse 13 Prop Research - The Farnsworth

Went ahead and did the paint job on the case.
Started the weathering as well.-

My guess is that it will be used to display messages, just as the 'BATTERY LOW' was indicated on the Tesla gun.

Re: Warehouse 13 Prop Research - The Farnsworth

should have a couple pictures tomorrow of the waterjet cut brass plates. Might be a day or 2 after that to get a shot of the final plate with the laser etchign done as well.

Any estimate on the price range for these?
