Hi all!

I haven't been active on the forum for a while. But i have started a band called GUBBKEPS and we just made a vid for one of our songs: As the world is growing old.

We needed it to have a villain or boogeyman character and I remembered a costume I made for an indie fantasy film we made a few years back called Häxmästaren (The Witchmaster). It was about this plague doctor loosing his mind after his own son got the plague.

Anyway the costume in the music video is based on parts from that costume and also parts from another character, a knight from another indie fantasy film we made earlier.

Here's a link to the music video:

And here's the costume:

The plated armor was made for the knight.

The tabard and details are inspired by priest clothes.

The details are based on the original story in the first film, some are based on old symbols found from early history, most are designs inspired by medieval symbols.

The crown is made from wood with linnen threads. Panted with acrylics. The design idea is to make it look like fingers.

The mask is pretty much based on a plague doctor mask. I learned the importance of making good ventilation in the costumes after this mask. Its really bad to wear it even for shorter takes...

In the original film the idea was that the Witchmaster killed 7 witches and made this powerful weapon from their hair. In the original film this wip was his main weapon, but in the music video we decided to ad a huge great sword.

The boots are knobblebeckers with soles removed and the gloves are replicas bought earlier.

Cheers!

Hi again. Uploaded a new video for a song called "Wanna Walk the Walk?". It uses stopmotion puppets built by me.
Here's the link for that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKMPcUhNa28

We are planning for another video for a song called "The specter of yesterday" and we plan to make it ghost/horror style. I don't know if I should start a new thread but decided to stick to this one.

Anyway GUBBKEPS have this bearded skull as a mascot and we decided to make a puppet of him for the video. It will be a 1/3 or 1/4 scale and be moved by strings and head removable to be handheld for subtle movements in closeup shots.

We have a skull prop used in another project. Just a cheap skull we found earlier that we repainted and weathered.
Using cheap fake fur for beard will be good enough as the video will be dark, dirty and somewhat blurry.

Here are the in progress pics of the mascot head:

Next up is the puppet body.
