Fantastic Four First Steps Marvel Studios MCU

The 2nd final end scene was just a close up of a tv playing the cartoon. Nothing major at all.
I liked how the film was set in a retro type alternate 1960s. Wonder how they plan to bring the Fantastic 4 into the Avengers with that setting. Maybe keep it, change the time, or just ignore it.

I saw it last night and really enjoyed it. I had lower expectations going in (though I was truly hoping for the best - I didn't want it to be bad), so maybe that helped a bit, but I thought it was a well-made, and especially well-acted movie. I can see some parallels between this and WandaVision, (as Matt Shakman was responsible for both), mainly how Wanda and Sue both have strong maternal bonds for their children and will do anything for them.
Kirby and Pascal had great scenes together, so the emotional impact of what was happening really came across.
I will say that, while I liked and understood the quick recapping of the FF's exploits and origin, I still felt like the movie was rushing to get to the Galactus story. I would've liked a little more time to get to know the team and see them fight together before getting to the main story. Once we got there, though, I was all in.
I enjoyed the 1960s-esque retro-future esthetic quite a bit. It helped set this film apart from the other MCU outings, as well as other superhero/sci-fi films. I could nitpick some of the FX - it seems like a lot of 3D CGI that we're seeing now - in this and in other projects (like "Superman") - has a similar unrealistic look. I realize they're creating CGI creatures which are unrealistic in nature, but some things end up looking sort of like they're made of clay, like some of the creatures and the Silver Surfer. The Thing looked good, though, including his clothes. He's a tough character to pull off, but it looked like he fit in the scenes. There were some issues with him holding the live baby, though.
BTW - I know it's impossible to get a real newborn baby to use in a movie, but that baby was HUGE. I feel bad for Sue's gooch. If only she had her husband's stretching abilities.

I feel the opposite, I guess. I think the quick recap was enough, especially since we had FF4 1 and 2 in 2005/2007, and Fan4tastic in 2015 that have gone over all of that.
During the film, I turned to my wife and said: "That's a 2 month old!"
I liked this movie way more than I expected. Originally the casting was an issue for me but after watching, it really worked. The retro futurism was great. The family theme of the movie was great.
It didn’t feel like a formulaic marvel movie. It felt inspired. I liked the organic way Sue rose to the occasion/leadership role. I really liked the FAMILY motif.

To clarify, I was fine with how the recap was done, but the recap plus everything up to Galactus felt a little rushed to me.
The second one was more of a humourous scene with no big connection to the future of the MCU.
Maybe they had to composite the baby into some scenes due to working laws.
I would disagree on the point about the CGI characters, especially the Silver Surfer, I thought the VFX were amazing for the character.
I'm glad you enjoyed the film overall though.
I think we finally got the definitive Fantastic Four into the MCU.
It will be interesting to see them interact with the other Avengers, Guardians and Thunderbolts* (New Avengers) in Avengers Doomsday.

Galactus says Franklin would "take this eternal hunger and this throne" or words to that effect.
