Fallout series on Amazon

I never played the game, should I be watching YouTube videos on new Vegas? In order to understand the next season?

IDK I think they are going to piss of a LOT of the fanbase if they totally eradicate the NCR or reduce its importance. The games are what made the franchise, not the show, so hopefully they will remember that.

Todd Howard and Bethesda have not shown that they're super worried about that in recent years. Fallout 76 has been an objectively bad game since it came out, but has also, somehow, managed to be an absolute money maker for them. If you want to get picky, they already did a lot in fallout 3 and 4 to alter elements, or go in new directions, from things that happened in 1 and 2. So the idea that they would be against doing that in future installments is unlikely. They'll strictly bottom line the decision.

No. If you want to watch fallout videos because it's a neat story and you want to get a better feel for the vibe of the world, then go for it. You'll likely really enjoy it. But plot wise, all bets are off when it comes to the TV show functioning within the established "game" story line.

I would say you could look up New Vegas and Mr. House (he was in the episode where the company heads met) to get the gist of it because they're going there. I don't think anything that happened in that game will matter because if the NCR is actually gone, New Vegas will be totally different in the show.

This show exists in the same universe as the games. Just because Vault-Tec hasn't shown to be "active" in the games, does not mean that remnants don't exist. I don't understand why it's easy for people to believe that there can be Vaults all over the country for 200+ years, but it's hard to accept that maybe in some of those vaults remnants of Vault-Tec still exists. Also, we saw one area of the country with part of the NCR in it. That doesn't not make it the only NCR that exists. Like, you wouldn't go to another country, see some US Troops in it and assume it's the entire US Army.

The NCR is all over the entire West coast. In New Vegas they mention probes into Colorado, so I would assume they were pushing east in the former North Western states as well. Not sure what's official though. So it would be hard for them to convincingly have Vault-Tec have that many nukes left to take out the whole Western side of the country. I think what we will find out is that they took out the capital (Shady Sands, President, cabinet whatever), and not all. The Shady Sands sign in the show even mentions "First Capital of the NCR", which implies the capital moved before it was nuked. The Vault with the cyclops overseer has a NCR flag, which implies they are still part of the NCR.

In the same boat as you.I never played any of the games so I knew zilch about the story. Watched the first episode and 8 hours later I watched the whole first season, very cool show IMO.I don't plan on playing any of the games and thinking I can watch Season 2 and still follow the TV story.
