Fallout Deathclaw Skull

Before I put this out here, I'm a noob :)D) to the forum and cannot wait to post more of my stuff on here. So this project is my Deathclaw Skull from Fallout that I will be mounting on my Brotherhood of Steel t-45d armor as the left shoulder pauldron. I'm posting this particular piece as a walkthrough if anybody would like to make their own or wants a reference to building a skull from another universe/game/movie.

Believe it or not, there aren't many Fallout/Deathclaw skulls floating around the interwebs (save one on deviantArt that looks pretty close to it, only with skin on it?) and the 3d models from the PC version. Basically, I drew the concept art for it, figured out the dimensions (7 inches long by 7 inches tall and 6 inches wide) and started outlining the model with wire. The wire I used is 50' Dorman Wire I found at Walmart for about $3 a package, although I wouldn't go back with that brand for the entire model as it is pretty thin and hard to make strong structures with it.

Using the wire (double wrapping on the bottom part of the jaw and horn structures) and with galvanized-black hands and four hours I finally made the somewhat flexible outline. For my method of creating the skull, I looked at similar projects making T-Rex Skulls, and mimicked the way they wrapped the eyes and holes. I didn't go exactly with the reference from deviantArt partly because it looks too much like the flesh and blood version of a Deathclaw, and I thought that without the flesh, the eye holes and cheeks would be open exposing the inner part of the skull.

Currently it's in the drying stage from my first paper mache layer. This will take around 20-24 hours with the brand of sealant/glue I used (modge podge). After this will go another layer, and then the next layer will be fiberglass resin on the inside and outside (3 coats on the inside), finished with some modeling clay, spray paint and the hand painted touches. I don't have this on commission yet, albeit I have had 3 requests on Facebook for them. Once this one is finished then I'll consider it, otherwise it's back to the paper mache!

(Also I'm a bit embarassed, my crafting table is a bit occupied with t-45d armor and fiberglass everywhere, so I had to resort to the counter and garage)

Cant wait to see more. I thought to do something similar on the T45-T51 hybrid I have in the works.
especially after seeing Ashur in the Pitt with his "junked" out T45.

I would love to see that! I was inspired to do this from Ashur/Tribal armor from The Pitt, despite me somewhat disliking the DLC. Anyway, I'll be posting updates soon!
