Fallout 4 10mm Pistol

This is lilykill's 10mm from thingiverse.
I printed it in purple HIPS in a few crowded rafts on a Lulzbot mini at my local hackerspace, Making Awesome.


Parts were right up on the bed extents.


Pretty smooth printed at high detail right off the bat. About 50-60 hours of printing total.
The reliability of the lulzbot mini has been very impressive so far.


I gave it a good heavy pass with 220 grit before any primer went on.



Several layers of alternating terra cotta and grey later. Very little spot putty was required.


This is after maybe 5 additional filler primer passes.




Here's the various bits set up for a gang block mold.


Added some patches of texture on the handle with textured rattlecan paint.


Molding.. sometime.

Try 3dhubs for a quote - but it was maybe 20-40usd in materials and 3-4 hours of my time total. Not bad at all.

Yep - the mold is complete. I'm waiting on a vacuum chamber to pull some nice copies.

First up was the box and clay etc

The detail bits got a little gang mold

Here's both halves broken out

The first cast was rough. Lots of bubbles migrated out of the resin on one side.
