Fading 5.11 Tactical Jumpsuit

Anyone have any experience fading these tactical jumpsuits? They claim to be "fade resistant" but there's got to be some way! Going to start with a few soaks and multiple runs through the washer/dryer - but any other suggestions? A little weary of bleach. I've seen rock salt mentioned somewhere but no personal experience with it.

Thanks!

About 10 years ago I bought some surplus flight suits with the intention of making a Boba Fett suit for Halloween. I tried washing, bleach, and various Ritt products and could not affect the color of the suit. If the tactical jumpsuit is similar, bleach won't hurt it, but it won't change the color either. I just checked the suit, and it's Teflon coated. Nice. I looked around for ways to remove Teflon from clothing, and didn't come up with anything favorable. Chemical fading isn't going to happen very easily. You might try fading by sunlight/UV. I'm not sure what your time frame is, but hanging it outside during for a week or two might fade it a little. It's a long shot, but there it is. Good luck :)

Brush on talcum powder and maybe fine clay dirt? It'll fade the colors, and give that old-warn look...

From experience...you can NOT fade a 5.11 TDU Jumpsuit. The one I have for work has been through the wash over 500 times, has crawled through mud and muck, woods, dirt and snow, been left on the back deck of my patrol car for a month in the sun, and it still looks like new...they are dyed to last, and that teflon coating isn't playin' around.
