Ezio Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood)

So I've been playing the Assassin's Creed games for a few months now and im slowly becoming more and more addicted to the costume, so i have decided that this will be my next project. The Assassin in question is Ezio Auditore da Firenze from the Brotherhood release.


Now i must point out that throughout the game the costume can be completely overhauled and include lots of different things like the Sword of Altair, poison darts, short dagger, throwing knives, amour, different coloured robes etc With this being the case i shall be starting with the basics and work on adding weapons as time goes on.

For those wondering who i'm talking about, here is a pic of the character in question.

For the most of this build i will hopefully be making it myself and with the help of a few others for their excellent sewing skills

I have already sourced that i can buy the Hidden blade gauntlets from eBay and are the officially licensed/choice of gauntlet for most cosplayer's around the world. They come highly accurate and better yet are molded in PVC plastic so as i wont accidentally assassinate a poor defenseless kid

are the gauntlets from the official game franchise company? i dont know why but i always thought that the blades would come out and go in with the flick of the wrist like in the game! i know it possible too, i've seen several fan-made ones that function like said and even hide all of the blade into the housing unit. The appearance of those ones do look great though, i just wish theyd have that extra feature built in so i could buy it and sit there and feel badass all day long haha. cant wait to see more progress for your project though, i love assassins creed builds!

As far as i'm aware, i think they are, but don't quote me on that one. I'd love the wrist flick action too, but im not really too fused either way. I may look into possibly modding them....

Just a heads up on the hidden blade, the gauntlet really is very tight on my arm, and the part with the blade attached restricts movement of the wrist.
I'm 16 so my arm isnt that big and its tight on me, so just giving you a heads up
im not sure if this is true for all of them, it is possible that the one I purchased may have had a manufacturing error.

Belt Pouches

Having had no experience of leatherwork prior to joining the ranks of the Game of Thrones Costume/Armourey Department I decided to give these a go.

For these I started with drawing out paper templates and then transferring these to wood.

Once drawn out, I then cut the pieces out witha jigsaw and sanded to shape.

I then began the molding process by submerging the leather in hot water until it was completely saturated. I placed the leather over the wooden mold and manipulated it until i was happy with the shape. Once happy, I then used the leftover pieces of wood from the molds to hold the leather in place and left to dry.

When they had completely dried out, I removed the surround to reveal the molded leather.....YAAAAYYY!!! IT WORKED!!!

Next up was to cut out a little decrotive add on for one of the pouches and size it up

With this placed to one side i then cut out the backs and stuck the two halves together with Copydex and pegged until dry.

Using an Overstitch Wheel i made the track of where to create the holes for the stitching

Now for the fun bit.....Staining the lether Dark Brown!! And the not so fun bit....Stitching!! Eugh!! This took FOREVER!!!!

I also stitched on some of the details as well as stitching the front and backs together.

Once that was done it was just a matter of adding a few D-Rings and a buckle

A few Earth Magnets to keep the fllaps closed

And last, but not least, the all important belt loops

I love when people make their own pouches for costumes like this. It's a fairly small detail but somehow, for me, it really shows dedication. I've not done that yet (the only leather work I've done is sewing it for clothing), but I'd love to learn some time.

I wouldn't have thought of using leather pants for Ezio, but those work really well.

I'm exactly the same, the more attention to detail the better in my opinion!
The more I looked at the reference pics and thought about the materials of the era, the more it felt like the right decision to go with Leather

This is the back piece of the belt which will connect to the big leavy buckle at the front. The two connecting straps will hold the pouches

Very nice leatherwork! My first Ezio costume used vinyl, I'm only now upgrading to real leather.
