Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - COMPLETE - PIC HEAVY - Completed Pics on Page 2

The costume is amazing. But the best part is the weathering. The leather looks like it has been worn through battle, hell and back. It looks realistic.

Thank you very much, Mathew! It means a lot that you noticed that, because that was one of my main goals. I wanted the outfit to look as real, and lived in, as possible. Actually, I skipped the last step in the weathering process (because I ran out of time) which would have been to splatter some mud over the outfit, and then knock some of it off, to make it look as if it has been really dirty in the past, but is now somewhat cleaner.

In any case, I have to redo much of the costume for another competition, so I'll probably end up taking that step when I do it.

HA! In case I win in The Netherlands in June, I have to go to London too! That'd be cool, because I'd love to see your costume in real life!

Ah, so you're competing, eh? Are you going to use your Smaug costume for June? It would be really cool to see that in person, too :)

Yep, Smaug it is! Still working hard to get it done on time. :)

Bump :p

I'm planning on re-doing all the cloth bits, so any advice from you experienced costumers out there would be well-appreciated. :)

Amazing work! This Assassins Creed costume is Hollywood. Your attention to detail, the leather work, the textiles....

Really fantastic and inspiring work!

Fan-freaking-tastic. This is such an incredible suit. Your leatherwork makes me jealous and gives me something to aspire to.

Hah, I won't be bringing my Smaug after all unfortunately. So I'll see you in my Khan then. I will watch your performance at the competition :)

Smaug is huge and pretty hard to 'handle' in public, therefore I wanted the hotel in front of the Expo, however it's crazy expensive and WAY over my budget. I do not want to spend 600+ euros on JUST the hotel. Therefore, I'll probably find a cheaper hotel and take Khan along, which takes up less space. (bad pun)

The detail work is amazing! The ebony texture was my favourite, and I think Brotherhood was the best of the 3 Ezio games. Good job! I love that you did distressing. I still see several Ezio costumes around at any given convention, but they always look too new and clean.

Oh, okay. Yeah, makes sense. Oh, come on! I love puns!

Thank you very much! Agreed, brotherhood was definitely the best of the Ezio trilogy. Though I haven't actually played Revelations, I watched a playthrough and didn't like it as much. Not to mention it was extremely short.

Yeah, distressing to me was essential. I wanted to make the suit as real as possible and there is no way an active assassin like Ezio would have a brand-new suit. In any case, as this particular costume was never intended to be Ezio, but instead changed into Ezio halfway through the process, there are very many inaccuracies.

So I'm making a new one. Properly this time. :D
