ESB E-Web tripod?

Trying to find out if anyone has info/parts used to make the snowtrooper E-web. Anyone know what kind of tripod they used? Or parts to make the blaster barrel? I am looking to make something close, but am not turning up much.

The tripod reminds me of a machine gun tripod. The back of the gun resembles a browning .50 cal. I am wondering if it originated from a .50 cal platform. Or even an anti-aircraft platform.

I'm interested as well. Making it from something lightweight, portable, and affordable seems to be my problem.

No in both cases. The tripod for a Browning or any other .50 cal machinegun is significantly different.

This is the E-web pictured from Wookipedia. This would be pretty easy to fabricate. In fact, I might do it.

So you can mount it to the back of a minivan and force Jack Black to run so you can gun him down?

On a serious note, I'd love to see how this pans out. Be sure and post your E-Web pics for us all to see, folks.

I also always wondered if the E-Web was based on a real military item.

But I think that such a huge prop was simply custom built. Just like the rebell cannons or the gun turrets.

Modifying a found real world gun of this size would propably be to easy to identify for the audience and spoil the illusion. Also maybe too much work and costs for such a little screentime?

Just my two cents...

It looks doable though. Here is another image:

Pretty cool, thanks. I figured since most SW gun items were WWII based, then the E-web might be also. That is a funky looking tripod for sure.

The wookiepedia pic is great, best one I have seen. I wonder how hard it would be to weld one of these up. Weight would be significant of course unless you used PVC or something lighter...

sorry to revive an old thread. But did anything come of this? I'm trying to figure out what parts i could use to build one in 1/6 scale

A member told me to upload pics of an eweb I`m building. I don`t remember ever posting on here. I`m not sure how so I`ll try a link to my facebook profile. I have all my pics of stuff I`ve been building. Once my E-web is done , I`m starting a moisture vaporater. Rolland Lajeunesse | Facebook
