But, with tools in mind, I'm thinking maybe one of those battery op or rechargable screwdrivers with the extra bits stored in the handle?

I know it looks like an emergency hammer buy Kurt Wimmer said in an interview that they were made for the film and cost quite a bit to make.

Most of the props in Ultraviolet certainly seemed to be custom. They definiteley put more effort into design than the script :lol

hmmm, i'll talk to ramiel about this one, it's a prop i wanted to do for a long time. One thing of this prop that probably will be too expensive or even possible to exactly replicate are the glass vials. Not only would it be expensive to have custom glasses made, but shipping liquids in medical looking glass containers is a customs nightmare waiting to happen.

i remember in the late 80's / early 90's, i owned a ?_panasonic tape cassette audio walkaman that I purchased in korea. I've never seen it state - side as it was $400+ It was all metal, thin but sturdy and barely bigger then a casset tape casset box. The hinges allowed for it to lock in an open position. When it shut, you could barly see where it opened.

When i saw equilibrium, i recognized the prozium delivery case immediately as being this modified 'walkman'... (especially when opening and closing the prozium gun - the sounds it made when openeing and closing were spot on.)

i haven't seen my walkman in years, but i'll go digging for it. Anyone elese travel to korea / japan in the early 90's and buy an outlandishly expensive metal walkman.

kind of like this except it was smooth over the entire surface, and a matte dark metal color... Just about the same size as the cassette itself.

IMO that dosen't look like it at all :lol The amount of modification they would have had to do if they infact used that as some kind of base makes it seem almost pointless.

There are at least 2 sense where they crush them, and they are clearly not solid machine acrylic. Now, if they wanted to take the time to machine out the inside as wall, or machine them from acrylic tubes, and machine end pieces, maybe, but I doubt it.

As for the whole "it was made from no found parts" bit. It might be true, it might not. I mean, these prose work on all sorts of projects, and they often forget a little thing, here, and there, or talk about items made by others on their teem, like they know something about it. Lets say for example someone else put a lot of work into it, but that it was made from some found part, then as they prattle on about it to the prop master, when asked about it later, he might just recall the babbling of hjis underling, and just say, it was all custom made, and it was very hard, and took a lot of time and money. Then again, this guy, may have better memory then most, and they really did do it all from scratch.

Found parts or not, all these years later, why don't I have one? I mean, the master artisans here have done fantastic replicas, of fare more complicated props, from even lesser known movies. And it's not like this was made back in the dark ages. Where are these things. I mean someone around here, or on one of the other forms, or props sites, should have at least one screen used version in there collection, that would allow them to pass on some info, and picks to us.

We've seen a number of fine replicas of the guns, so why not this?

Lack of reference. Never seen decent pics of this thing anywhere. Never heard of anyone owning an original, and to quote Wimmer, very expensive to build!

Im still at a stop with my gun, I HAD pics of the real one. I found it on a foreign website and cannot find it again, I KNOW it has to be out there somewhere. It really pisses me off, I should have burned the pics of a cd for safe keeping. lmao. I mean my gun is almost done, I just need to get my acrylic tubing cut and drilled for the end and make a metal jig to stamp out the foam interior and cast some resin copies of my machined prozium vial. the rest is pretty much done, but in the end, I have no proof as to how accurate it is. and that is VERY frustrating...
