Hi all,
just wanted to pick your brains about a 'prop' i purchased from Memorabilia at the NEC in March 1999.
A guy was there selling all kinds of stuff that he had managed to salvage from a 'specialist breakers' - apparently at the end of filming JAK productions had sent a lot of this out to be dismantled / scrapped.
He had a lot of items for sale including what looked to be parts of Anakins pod racer too, he also had a lot of photo evidence of the dismantled sets at the breakers yard, he'd had inside information and descended on the place before everything was trashed.
He explained that the cruiser cockpit was built at Leavesden on B stage and that he had managed to aquire a piece of the cockpit set dressing, this was one of many, many small items that he had - lots of those he backed up with stills from the movie.
I will upload a photo if anyone is interested.
I wondered if anyone else had purchased from this guy or had heard of this happening, it all seemed very plausible at the time and upon inspection of some archive photos (episode 1 snapshots) the item could very well have been used. The company was called Hollywood icons, based in Milton Keynes.
Hope someone out there can help or shed any light on the likelihood of this being the real deal or a piece of junk from an old washing machine! :cry
Thanks
