Endor rifle finished!

I finally finished this thing after 12 years of off and on and building it twice before I got the real parts! (see pics below) HUGE thanks to OdiWan72 and Kurtyboy for answering probably 100 questions on this and getting me the parts! The only other thing I didn't build was the wood grip, which someone lathed for me and I forgot his name other than it had Squirrel in it... I was building the POSW version which apparently had lower receiver that wasn't actually used, but I was too deep into it before I figured that out, so who cares! I never did get the Jackal rifle stock part that sits in front of the M-16 magazine well to sit exactly as it was on the real gun. I think they cut it at an odd angle. I may go back and redo that eventually, but it looks cool now so I'm leaving it along. I also will probably get a Singlepoint cast I can cut down to replace the scope I have on there, but I already had it so... I also might weather the sling a little more. I also might replace the part behind the wood grip if I get ahold of a Jackal stock eventually. Also pay no attention to the stand I just threw a quick stand together so it wasnt' sitting on the shelf on its side. I want to eventually build a couple of the Rogue One versions to go with it. The glare from the acrylic is making it look like there are spots on the paint, but there are no spots.
I also just figured out I forgot to stick the metal tube inside the delta ring to replicate the gas tube! Oh well.

Sorry this one is a little blurry, but you can see the parts...

Finished version before paint. I used a G&P airsoft metal M-16 body and stock. Jackal parts (in black) from OdiWan72, airsoft AR (I think?) AR-15 flash hider from Kurty boy, scratchbuilt Jackal fake magazine, and scratch Jackal part behind the wood grip.

Is that the flash hider you mention on top of the upper receiver (near the stock)?

It looks awesome, man!

DUDE...you did it!!! Looking great buddy :)
Isn´t it good to call a project "done" (for now) after this loooong time?

And don´t be too harsh to yourself...I am collecting parts for the VR helmet for about two decades now and just worked on it every now and then. So 12 years until completion isn´t bad at all *lol*

I love seeing all real parts builds completed. The passion & long suffering that's gone through to complete them is so rewarding when they're finally finished.
Congrats on this awesome build! :) (y)

Very nice work. I have one too. One of my favorite blasters. However, I did not build mine, it was a commission,

Also pay no attention to the stand I just threw a quick stand together so it wasnt' sitting on the shelf on its side.

I've been thinking of getting one of those AR-15 stands you can purchase which utilizes the the magazine area to hold it up.

There are simple ones like this:

There is also wood ones that look easy to build...

There is also this place that does custom engraved stands:
How cool would it be to have a stand with a rebel logo engraved or a base cut out in the shape of a rebel logo?

Maybe even a place to display the removed magazine and it could have faux power components inside.

Awesome!

I really wanna build one of these, now! Well, I'd prefer the Hoth version, but AR parts are easier to come by. Hell, I've already got a bunch here!

Thanks!

This was quickly going from one of my fav blasters to least favorite because of the time it was taking. That is until I finished it and s̶t̶a̶r̶t̶e̶d̶ ̶s̶h̶o̶o̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶i̶m̶a̶g̶i̶n̶a̶r̶y̶ ̶S̶t̶o̶r̶m̶t̶r̶o̶o̶p̶e̶r̶s̶ was making sure the front sight was aligned. I still ignored it for several years after I scratched all the parts twice and then someone came on here and said "Hey those pieces are from a Jackal air rifle!" and I want "*@Q#$*@# you gotta be kidding me..."

I want to at least make that Rogue One version that looks like a stubby SMG version so I was thinking of doing something where it holds two or three or them vertically. I haven't come up with anything yet though.
