Empire Magazine catches up with the Colonial Marines of ALIENS

Okay I was figuratively jumping for joy at this article... :)

Until I saw that the picture of Dietrich was actually a picture of Ferro's death. :rolleyes :thumbsdown

Why can't they get these things right? :cry

So now this is a bash Cameron thread? Did I get this right when you say he would "ruin Battle Angel Alita"?

Exactly what "other" films has he ruined? Nearly every film he has made (with maybe the exception of The Abyss) has been absolute gold. Two of which are the all time top box office films.

I don't exactly care for Cameron as a person because he comes off as an arrogant jerk sometimes (and from what I understand is a complete hardass to work for), but I love his movies.

I like terminator, terminator 2, and aliens. That's it. I hated Titanic aside from the fact of the scale he went to in order to recreate everything. Ever since that his movies haven't impressed me. Then again i may just be hard to impress because very little in hollywood gets my attention. I just hate seeing folks trying to make movies out of manga/anime and they never do it justice or improve it.

Cameron is brilliant - and compared to the other A list directors that we have today - he is a genius. Would you have been more excited to find out Cameron was redoing Star Trek rather than JJ Abrams? Or how about JC taking a swipe at the newest Spider-man or Superman or that he was going helm Watchmen?? The guy drops himself into his work life no other director out there. We benefit form his perfectionism - say what you will about Titanic - but he did manage to beat Star Wars by making the ultimate chic flick (personally I don't like the film because of Leo - can't stand him, and I've seen a couple of test pictures of other actors James wanted before him - Depp, John Cusack - who I think would have been better choices - though Cusack is looking too old). I love his movies - not his dialog - but his movies all together are put together by a storyteller. Any guy who can write - Terminator, Rambo 2 and Aliens at the same time - in only two months - well my hat will always stay off for him.

Correction Burton. The Abyss: Special Edition IS GOLD.

Trust me I liked The Abyss- I meant of his hits, it's probably near the bottom of the list.

And if Cameron had done Star Trek instead of JJ- I probably would have ate it up... even if it completely sucked. :lol
