Anyone seen this yet? Lumilor Electroluminescent Paint

Would handy in Tron-ing anything you own. Now to figure out how they did it. They are only letting custom shops painters use it because "The way its needs to be sprayed." Which IMO is only a tactic to control how much they charge. I would guess its copper base paint, phosphorus paint or substrate, copper cover. What do you guys think?

My guess (complete conjecture) is a two or three part paint (much like you were saying). Conductive paint of some kind, a very fine enamel, and another layer of conductive paint mixed with phosphors (the substance used to make EL wire glow). I was trying for a while to figure out it it would be possible to make, but it seemed way too tricky.

the video on their site says no special equipment, etc. needed.

I saw them post on gizmodo "I wanted to provide some information on our coating system that is unclear in the article. 1) LumiLor is non-toxic and environmentally friendly. You can inhale it, in fact, you can literally eat it should you desire, although it is not tasty by any means.
2) LumiLor is not brushable, as there is some precision needed in the application process that a brush does not afford. It is sprayable, though, which makes it unique from any other EL in the marketplace, and it can be applied to just about any surface - metal, plastic, wood, etc.- in any shape or size
3) We don't sell it to the public because we want to ensure the quality of the application, and therefore we insist on proper training and certification of anyone who applies it.
4) The power sources are the same as those that drive EL wire and panels today. You have power, we can power it quite easily. Yes, there is some science in powering it, but we're not splitting atoms."

This line here I feel is hogwash bs because they were asked about selling to the hobby market aka us. "We don't sell it to the public because we want to ensure the quality of the application, and therefore we insist on proper training and certification of anyone who applies it." I know how to use a hplv =p They are hiding something that only paint shops get to know...boo.

I think this is a powerful product. This could be huge depending on the ease of application and cost. Did you see the cycle painted with this stuff? Every crotch rocket rider i know will want this.

I really want to 'TRON' my motorbike and leathers, then light it up on the motorway when passing people.

This is incredibly cool. I especially like the idea of 'animated paint jobs' they showed briefly. There is some amazing potential for this product, I know I'd love to get my hands on some.

First thing I'll do is paint some LCARS displays around the house, come up with a REALLY interesting, large scale way of displaying time in my living room, and make that blue strip on my sonic screwdriver glow!

...whenever I can afford it...
