I received number 31 but since I can't open it for another week due to travel, I was wondering what the consensus is. Any issues or simply priceless?

Anyone?

Just seen this thread....

Here was my review of the prototype in Feb2010... Ralph McQuarrie Darth Vader Helmet from E-FX

I've just received my actual production helmet and I have to say its even better than the prototype. The finishing is absolutely stunning.

Cheers

Yeah I belong to another Star Wars forum and supposedly these were supposed to go out months ago and didn't because of the weather conditions in China or wherever they were painting them.

Some people have already gotten them, the ones that did a half deposit or so haven't gotten them.

Alls I know is I really want one of these, but it will be a cold day in hell before I ever could afford one.

Gorgeous piece.

THIS is what the ROTS Vader helm SHOULD have been. Would have been a good nod to the artist. Would have been a good nod to history. One of the many things overlooked was that Vader's suit NEVER changed in the 30 years between ROTS and ANH? Really...seems that would have been rather obvious...

I would like to say that $900 is obnoxious...but since it sold out on the first day, perhaps it was under priced. Guess I'll have to wait until they start showing up on eBay for half the price.

I don't think with a limited number of 250 you'll find them for half price. I would venture to say these won't come up for sale very often like the MR Y-Wing, or AFBB Kenobi saber.

At 900.00 it was expensive, but considering that some custom Vader helmets go for that, I was happy to pay that for this one. The paint job is amazing. I have yet to see a pic than can do it justice.

Doesn't seem like it'll drop anytime soon. So far the ones that have sold on ebay have been around $1,100-$1500. With only 250 pieces and being a SE piece, I'd imagine the price is fairly set. I've seen one of the helmets in person in a friend's lighted display and it is gorgeous, definitely worth the price as a finished piece as many vader helmets finished are in the $800+ range. My bet is to watch bigbadtoystore.com and a few other sites. I've pointed a few lucky buyers to them when they randomly pop up there (about 2 from the first shipment and 1 from the 2nd shipment) and they were purchased within the day.

I was king of hoping that my "half price" comment would have been seen at the over-the-top crack it was meant to be. No harm or insult intended. Trust me as someone who thinks that this SHOULD have been the helmet seen in ROTS, I love this look.

True, most finished helmets of this calibre are around this price, but that's for "seen on screen" helmets. This unfortunately never saw screen time. But, like I said earlier, this was priced probably too low seeing how quickly it sold out. I do wish they would have released more but that's fine. I will simply have to keep my eye out for eBay or another venue as was listed by shenphong. I would like to display this "should have been" next to my ANH and ESB!

Cheers to eFX on this!

Just a hint though, bigbadtoystore seems to be the best and "cheapest" method I've seen. Generally $899 price and around $70 shipped to your door if you are state side. Ebay and other places go much higher. Redfordfilms is selling them for around $1300, not quite sure why the high markup with them, but thats one other place. I'm hoping some sad sap has to let theirs go someday so I can pick it up for around retail or so. So far $900 is just to far out of reach especially since I'll be aiming for the anh helmet.

This was my first efx purchase and I love it. I'm working on a way to dispaly with a McQuarrie pring.

Looking forward to the ANH Vader and hopefully the X-Wing as well.

I'm Not a big Vader fan but I'm still kicking myself for not getting one.
