They are a bugger to build, I know exactly why Efx would find this difficult to mass produce.

Couldn't eFX make the Biker Scout out of injection molded plastic?

At least it would be closer in feel and weight to the original than fiberglass.

If the fiberglass is kept thin and uniform, it won't be too heavy. I wouldn't be concerned with materials as long as the dimensions and details are in place. It's still a collectible that we haven't had access to before. :)

I think all the problems wouldn't happen if company makes the product and then put it out for sale..
all this "teasing" before even know what is possible to do:facepalm

that way all becomes a big disappointment to many

I completely disagree with this. (n)thumbsdown:thumbsdown

By making early announcements, we as fans have an opportunity to voice our opinions. Whether Gino or the other efx guys choose to take it on board is another matter and we can certainly vote with our money.

But the point here is that there is some scope for discussion rather than a situation where efx reveals the details/specs at the very last minute after production is well underway and there is no room for amendment.

I rather have discussion during the development stage.

All of us consistently damn them if they do and damn them if they don't.

It's a business and has to be run like one or we get nothing.

If us nerds would be willing to pay a $1000 or $2000 or whatever then I'm sure they could make it exactly like we want.

So name your price and see if they can make it work. I bet if we pay $5000 a helmet they will get it done perfect.

;)

Offer kits and let us build them ourselves if a factory can't offer a vac formed trooper helmet or scout helmet.
I hope we find out for sure soon if the trooper helmet is going to be fiberglass, as there is a ton of other items i can spend this money on that i got together for a few EFX hero helmets.

Keith.

If the Bloody Factory can't put it together right, heck pay us! Pay us in goods if you have to!

:lol

Sigh..defintely disappointed that it's Fiberglass.

well as far as what it might be made out of..this is what is stated on efx's website..

"Our Legend Stormtrooper helmet will not only replicate the original helmet in process, but all materials, as well."

so if they were going to make them out of fiberglass..why would they say this on their site? plus if they do make it out of fiberglass than i dont see how they can call this a legend. i would think that it should be made of the same materials. such as the Legend Vader was. only time will tell. if its made out of fiberglass this will be a pass for me..i want it to be as close to the original film used helmet as possible.

I guess we discussed this already on another forum. ;) You can see it here too: eFX Stormtrooper Helmet - Legend Edition (Hero) - Page 5

lol yeah we did..i just dont see why they would do that. you would think they would want to keep it as accurate to the original as possible. i guess it would still be classified as a legend because it was derived from an original screen used helmet. but liek i said befofe..i woudl want it as close to film accurate as possible..hopefully they stick with the plan on using the same materials as the originals.
