I was hoping they'd take a shot at a more acurate Obi ANH, and even fancied getting one... Well, so much for that idea. If they're just going to load it up with useless features that only manage to drive up the price, looks like I'll be skipping this one too.
If I ever scrape together the money, I'll probably end up getting one (and two other sabers) from that guy everyone loves to hate. It won't be as accurate, but it'll be upgradable.

If I remember, the X-Wing was on the table for MR but they just couldn't get it out in time.

Yes DM i remember the MR pics of there proto, and was bummed it got canned TBH, just wondered if eFX took the whole deal off MR as i kinda liked what they did with the bird.
Its all pretty exciting TBH, the Vader lid is so cool, cant say im a prop nut, but im so eager to see whay other studio scale ideas they have!

There's been four "preview" images that I've seen so far - the concept Vader, the Episode II clone helmet, the Obi-Wan reveal saber, and the X-Wing model... the magazine ad seems to imply that there's also going to be a Ki Adi Mundi saber and something Blockade Runner related...

My email featured the X-Wing replica...would love to see a better image of the Vader helmet though. I imagine that its going to be difficult for them to NOT rehash product released by MR but I think that they are off to a good start. Personally my favorite MR saber is the OWK saber so I really hope that EFX changes it up a little with the "reveal" version as pictured. If not, I am sure to pass on this one.

I'm pretty excited so far although I still think it would suck for those of us who have the MR Limited Editions if EFX starts redoing them. Obviously if they can really improve upon it then there is a worthwhile reason to do it.

Maybe the reason eFX is making a reveal instead of static Obi Wan is because it's different, not a re-release. If eFX can pull off a reveal saber that is visually accurate while static and add the cool factor of a reveal saber, I'll probably buy one.

Although I probably won't pick up another obi saber (I have the latest Roman's and that's good enough for me), it's good to see that eFX is trying something new, rather than just making another static saber.
IMO, i think it'll be something to wow visitors who dont know much about props... i know that for my friends, the more a prop moves, the more impressive it is to them (which is why they love things like my Jurassic Park Cryo Can, with all it's openability and twisty springiness :lol)

Add the internals and if they're doing them as LE's to the tune of 3500 pieces or so, I can see that price being in the 500 range. If not more. SE's were what? 450? I'd guess the internals took more to design and create than to get an actor's sig.
