@OldKen
Concerning the TK bucket,
I mean sure it's inaccurate compared to the archival ones (which are much less clean cut and symmetrical no?) but to an average Joe like me who really isn't too nickpicky about his trooper buckets, it looks good enough, but I can easily see how it would bother you, I'm a purist about certain star wars stuff too
According to Bryan, they only gave Gino 4 days to get it painted.Did the real ANH Vader lid have the "orange peel" look to it?
Yeah, I'm certainly not bashing EFX and like I said, that Vader is beyond what I would have expected or even hoped for! I just don't get why they went THAT far with the accuracy thing on the Vader yet the trooper is its own sculpt. In no way does it share any of the "imperfections" or even basic shapes of the real deals. Yet we are getting a Vader with precisely recreated brushstrokes and scratches in the paint?
I'm not saying they should make a trooper bucket with every scratch from a particular SU helmet. Just that the shape is right.
I'm saying that comparing their Vader to their TK isn't apples and oranges...
It's more apples to baseball.
They are just that different. I just don't get making one thing UBER accurate beyond most purists dreams and having something else that is it's own incorrect sculpt.
Like I said... SURE make a symmetrical helmet for those that want it! Hell make a symmetrical Vader out of cheap plastic for those who don't care about that either! I think it's great to have the option! But I REALLY want to see a liscensed ACCURATE TK! I'm hoping they will do that down the road. Cause while some people see this uber accurate Vader as a gamble for EFX... I see it as them knocking it out of the park! I really think this single piece will sell more than all the MR buckets combined! I also see it opening a LOT of peoples eyes to the reality and coolness of the screen used props!
Just last night I was at a buddies house and showed him a pic of the scratched up efx Vader and he said "why is it all scratched?" I then told him to put on the HD ANH he had on his tivo and watch the opening scene... I paused it at the right time... He was like "oh... wow!" There for a second... one of my non-prop friends actually "got it" LOL!!!

Luke's helmets look fantastic! I suppose they were showcasing the Hoth and Trench run versions, I wonder why there are different mics for each?
You're right, it's the super low 250 C-V exclusive ESB "Hoth" version plus the regular ANH "Trench run" edition. The reson they have different mics is becuase eFX really did their home work well! The ESB helmet featured a sleaker more modern looking mic. Awesome to see the helmets in a more finished state then they were at SDCC!
