Hi

Does it take time to update the list?

Re: **NOW TAKING DEPOSITS** Edge of Tomorrow - Rita Vratasky's (Emily Blunt) Sword

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the delays in updating with the holidays and life events going on we are behind a bit

Here's where we are at:
IMG_0829.JPGFullSizeRender.jpeg

We have all the aluminum machining done for the run as you've seen in the pictures.

We had a failure of the blade mold and we had to go a different path we have a new mold made this week and will be progressing with the blades. We are now going with and inlayed aluminum strip for the blade edge vs a cold cast two part.

We are still having issue getting the labels to a level we like and are trying a couple new vendors (we want them weathered to match the screen used one)

Sorry again for the delays but we want to provided the best quality available and sometimes we hit roadblock in development stay tuned for more pics as we got in the weeks to come.

Cheers,
SK

Re: **NOW TAKING DEPOSITS** Edge of Tomorrow - Rita Vratasky's (Emily Blunt) Sword

Is there an updated timeline? Also, I would again like to request some additional photos of the production process and especially the new inlayed aluminum edge, as it looks a bit wonky in the picture above. Thanks!

It actually looks just like aluminum tape stuck to the blade rather than an aluminum insert. I hope the actual version is better than that!

I have to chime in here, I was more than upset, I PMed him almost every day to finally get a response, and I got a Refund, I think it is so unfair for a person doing a run to request funds with the "No Refund" clause, with no goal date in mind, his invoice said no refund for deposit yet we only had 30 days before we would forfeit our spot, first he said that the hold up was the graphics, well I can do them at my house, then he rudely told me that he informed me that he had mold problems with the blade mold, I responded, "Just send me the handle and I'll complete the blade build myself, he refused stating that they don't produce kits only finished props, then told me he's not a shop he has a normal job and he is working on it from home, Looking at the facebook page sure looks like a shop. Well give the other guys an update , why is that so hard unless there is something up. My god he started this thread over a year ago and people have paid deposits over 6 months ago, this is not a complicated prop, and yes Johnnyfl, that looks like a foam core blade with some mylar tape on it. Almost $3000 paid minus my deposit. I am really bummed because I really wanted this prop, I wish you guys luck and I'll keep checking in here. I would just keep PMing and posting here for updates.
For me I am not giving a dime to another builder unless there is a guaranteed time line that is less then 180 day PayPal dispute deadline.
Good luck,
AL

Thank you very much for the information Blastmaster.
KillerofSaints; I think that I speak for everyone that has paid a deposit. We have been patiently waiting for progress and the completion of this prop. Would you please provide us with a very realistic deadline, or it's time to start providing us with refunds. I can understand a "no refund" policy to secure a spot and to commit a buyer to the purchase after materials and time have been spent on an item. However, if a product is not provided at all, I think that it is only fair to return the money. This is not a case where the buyers are not paying for the item in full after it's been completed either. I, for one, have also been looking forward to this prop, but if it's not going to happen anytime very soon, then provide the refunds. Please get back to us on this. Thank you.

The first swords will be ready in 2-3 weeks. We are still awaiting the stickers but they should be here in that time frame. The first cast of the new master stuck and it had to be reworked. The new mold is being finished tonight and we will post pics tomorrow or Wednesday. Once the mold is finished the process will go quickly.

The image is of the master before the casting it’s shown for mock-up and progress purposes only.

We had setbacks in production, and personal commitments l, I realize that people are not happy with delays we aren’t either. There are material costs in producing runs and the deposit only covers the materials. This is common practice for most products such as this as you mentioned.

For people who have concerns about us not supplying a product they are unwarranted. We have provided many projects to clients in the past and people are. However we will not provide an inferior product to our standards just to meet a deadline. We want you to be as happy as possible with the end product.

In light of the delay we are reasonable, feel free to pm or call me at 281-908-0150 and we can arrange a refund and take you off the run.

I understand you’re not happy but for the record you pmd we twice when I didn’t get a chance to respond to your first PM.

We are lucky enough to have a shop in our garage but for the two of us this isn’t a full time job it’s and evening and weekend project like a lot of builders on here doing runs and making their own props.
