eBay sellers "spideymaker" recasting my Spiderman lenses

Re: eBay seller "spideymaker" recasting my Spiderman lenses

Just wanted to ask everyone not to send messages to Glasgow "Webhead" Spidey on facebook. He is not "spideymaker" and is in no way affiliated with him.

He did unfortunately purchase his asm2 lenses from spideymaker on eBay but did so without knowing they had been recast. Glasgow "Webhead" Spidey is a great member of the spidey community and friends with some of our other prominent spideys here at the RPF.

Spideymaker's actual name is Alan Johnston and used to go by the name "bigern81alan" on eBay. All I ask is that you continue to spread the word and hope that more people will do the right thing and stay away from him.

I haven't been on this site long, but I know you guys work so hard to make these works of art. Unfortunatly when you are that good there are going to be dirt bags that try to steal your hard work and pass it on as there own. I am sorry man. I have a face shield and senses from you that I had to save to get. You have my support TJack. I almost bought a suit form color suits about 18 months ago and while looking around I found this site. I also found out that it was a stolen file from Ohar. I do my research now before I buy anything and all I can say is I'll help spread the word. Sorry again man, it sucks when anything like this happens to good people.

Damn... Bad news ! But sincerely bro, you are the best for the face shell lenses, and, you are the most reputed !
This guys sell only the lenses 90 usd without the shell! If the people are not stupid, your kits are most interesting

That suck man. Sorry to hear about this. They look exactly the same to me too. What a *&%$!

If you haven't left feedback you can return them by checking 'counterfeit' in the reason for return boxes...

Doh! Meant to quote Daftpunk for this comment i.e "**** if I'd known I wouldn't have ordered my lenses from him"

Re: eBay seller "spideymaker" recasting my Spiderman lenses

Can confirm that Glasgow "Webhead" Spidey is not "spideymaker". Glasgow spidey is a good friend of mine and he wouldn't recast or steal other people's work, he only purchased them off eBay without knowing they were recast. I've also had some contact with "spideymaker" in the past about spidey stuff so can also confirm the information posted by TJack above is correct.

It's annoying to see Glasgow "Webhead" Spidey's name being dragged through the mud because of something he didn't do and I would ask that people do not message him about this as well, accusing him or insulting him or whatever and show some common decency. If you have messaged him or know anyone who has messaged him please spread the word that it is not him and help clear his name.

It is also very annoying to see Alan, someone that helped me with my spidey suit, talking about prints, seamstresses, the whole lot, and someone who I considered a 'decent' guy to be the person who would go about doing this sort of shady business. I can't support anyone who would profit off of other people's work and hope that people spread the word about him.

Sucks that it hit you Tjack, I'm sick and tired of dirt bags like this ruining the great reputation and hard work of the members of this forum. I hope he gets what he deserves in one way or the other, what a scumbag

Re: eBay seller "spideymaker" recasting my Spiderman lenses

Not sure if this is the same rpf member (superior venom) but it appears that "spiderman98" on youtube is also recasting my work and claiming he made them himself. If I knew what his username was here on the rpf I'd direct his videos to the mods and get him banned as well. Really pisses me off. A few of his comments indicate he has been selling them to others.

His very first video. He's showing how to recast the lenses and even says they are TJack lenses.

His username on youtube has just been changed to "Prop Central" and my comments on all his videos have been deleted :(

I know who he is and have asked him to post in this thread to explain himself. I will give him a chance to do so before reporting this to the mods.

Hey TJack sorry to hear this but I just commented so I hope it won't get deleted and so people wont buy it. Let me know if there is anything I can do.

eBay seller "spideymaker" recasting my Spiderman lenses

Hi everybody, um well actually so by now I've realized how big of a deal this is and I've talked with Tjack and have decided to attempt and redeem myself. I'm spiderman98 on YouTube and on my lens tutorial I wanted to be like you guys so I decided to try and pass off my lenses as my own in a way. I said that I had made the domes and bought the mesh. All of which Tjack provided me with (I'm so sorry again) and I did this all so that maybe people would think that I was cool and could maybe think they could make their own. I really just wanted a lot of views but later on it got worse. I'm sorry Tjack and this will never happen again. I actually have no idea what happened to your comments as I didn't delete them but hopefully they'll pop up sometime in hopes for people to see it. Also I know making a "mold" for those domes was very wrong and that I'll never do it again. Also I never sold anything or was planning to and have also renamed my channel prop central in hopes to redeem my image and start giving credit to people who deserve it and to also start making a wider array or superhero props myself (iron man, captain America etc.) again I already feel really horrible and please if any of you have something to add I'd feel so much better. Anyways, the only (recasting) I might have done I guess was the dome and I never actually did anything with it as it broke (go figure). Okay thanks for seeing this and TJack I'm so sorry again and will never do it again ever.

If there are any other hits or doubts that you guys can clear up or ask me about id really appreciate that. And one more side note I'd never encourage spidery maker or any other recasters even though it sounds really hypocritical... At least making money and stuff off of it. Thanks guys and sorry once more

Re: eBay seller "spideymaker" recasting my Spiderman lenses

DO feel bad. I am sick of this idea that we are supposed to go through life experiencing the absolute minimum negative emotions. If you did something sucky, you're supposed to feel bad about it, that's the definition of a conscience. That's how it's supposed to be!

DON'T, if you're apologising, think that you're asking for forgiveness. That's not what you're doing. You have done something crappy to a person-- you should not then, like, go forward and make additional requests of them. Yes, you can hope that your apology results in forgiveness, you can hope for that. But you are not requesting that.

Pretty much sums it up. [emoji106]
Not sure if you noticed the part I highlighted, but you don't get to request or determine the timetable for forgiveness when you've done something asinine.

I can imagine few things more pathetic in this hobby than trying to pass off somebody else's hard work as your own and making a video tutorial on recasting, because you "wanted to be like you guys," with a goal as immature as "I did this all so that maybe people would think that I was cool" and because " I really just wanted a lot of views." Good Lord.

Thank you for owning up to your stupidity, and for writing your apology, however awkward it is. But you SHOULD feel bad right now (thanks for reducing the part of your post that asked us to say something to make you feel better). You do not automatically get a pass. As of right now, I personally think you should be banned, straight-up.
But I'm stepping away for a bit to cool down.

You can hope for forgiveness. But you're not entitled to it, nor to membership on this site or youtube. Actions have consequences. And any platform with an audience and online presence entails a degree of power that needs to be used sensibly, which requires a degree of responsibility that you have failed to display.

Gee, if only there was a superhero that made that point pretty explicit...
