Eaglemoss 2 foot Enterprise D

Yeah, I just got set #5 after four months of nothing. Supply chain,....I hope. Right after I got a notice there will be more delays. I have been talking with Sindy, yes with a S, and she is very sweet, but has no answers. As long as I get it in the end the delays are what they are. Gives me more time to build, save money, and so on. I am just worried it will get cancelled.
I don’t think it will but hopefully it doesn’t take almost 3.5 years to complete like mine

If you have followed me on this thread in post #85 I determined that the Chinese Company, PCT or Premium Collectables Trading Company also doing business as IXO models was the manufacturer of the build the Enterprise part build model with Eaglemoss / Hero Collector as the middleman before Eaglemoss went into Administration aka bankruptcy. In a quest for a premium base after being told to EF OFF by Fanhome, I reached out via email to PCT (The Source) and was told that they are no longer are producing parts for this model and have zero parts on hand. While I followed up with another email asking if they would tell me who took over the manufacturer responsibilities… I honestly don’t expect an answer. However, I have come to a couple of conclusions. First this answers the mail on the shortage of parts customers are complaining about this very moment. Like 4-5 months behind in some cases. Also part kits have arrived out of sequence, basically sent what was on hand ! Secondly I don’t think the premium base exists as nobody has seen one in the wild and more and more of these models are coming to conclusion at the moment. Believe me I have been looking. Fanhome has not been very transparent about this but it appears they have moved the manufacturing elsewhere. Well at least I hope, for the next guys sake. GC

So I have assembled the model and with the exception of the Decals it is…..finished. In order to address and take a FINAL stab at light bleed, After some research online I ordered some foam clay to see if the clay will blend in and not look obvious. To be honest I never heard of foam clay before my research but after arrival I blended in some test gray into a nacelle just to do a test and let it dry. While the application went in perfect…. and light bleed would be solved in that area…the color was too gray. Light grey is a bear to find but I have ordered that to give it a go and returned the darker gray. If the light gray is a bust…. I’m applying the decals and calling it good…as you can see the test area is easy to pull out and clean up as I did not want to touch the saucer section for obvious reasons. I have waited this long to complete this model however, I did not want to be in a should have could have situation without giving it one more try. I have about a 50% confidence level with the lighter color. The other color was close…. But not close enough for me.

Hope the light grey works out for you (y)

Great job and I would value your insights into this as I signed up and have received stages 1 thru 8 (but waiting on 6 as on back order) but have not actually started this build yet. I have read many differing opinions on this so I was wondering, knowing what you know now would you have started this from the beginning and are you relatively happy with the end result. Also do you think it is worth the money. I am asking as I am not sure if I should continue the subscription based on what I have heard but I also know different builders can make better or worse versions of this in the end. I have built part works before, Millennium Falcon, BTTF DeLorean, Terminator 1/2 scale, Bond DB5 and I am just finishing up the Ecto-1 but for some reason something about this build fills me with trepidation. I don't know why but there you are.

Yes I do as it’s the only D model in this scale available at this price point. However that view may change if perhaps Tomy may take on this D model as a future project. The quality of the refit or 1701-A will make that determination. Warts and all delays and all I am just happy I was able to do finish
