E.T's spaceship

anyone know if there was ever a kit of the ship?

I have a few toys which are ok, but lacking in detail, just have the (very) basic shape, I'd love to find one that was screen accurate etc

Yeah actually, a member who was banned on here used to sell c3p0's and now you can find him on ebay and he sells the e.t. ship here and there. I think his website is goldenarmour.com or something like that but you should be able to find info on it.

You've got to be kidding me. THIS guy is the ONLY MODEL MAKER who makes an E.T. Space ship??? I'd love to buy an E.T. spaceship kit... but his reputation is well known. I know EFX has said they were going to make an E.T. spaceship... does anyone have any news? Leads? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Alan

Yeah, me too. An iconic vessel from a famous Steven Spielberg movie. Barry? Are you reading this? Bryan? Just curious if an EFX E.T. ship was any closer to being made?

:rolleyes recommending recasters is no no....

Here's the E.T. spaceship in the Seattle museum. I took this photo a few years ago. There aren't that many reference photos of the ship out there. If anyone has any, or could lead me to a source, I'd sure appreciate it.

Great pic, thanks for sharing! lovely close up, and you can really see the details.

There are some, not many, in the Book " E.T. the extra terrestrial from concept to classic, the illustrated story of the film and the film makers" published by pocket books. it incudes shots of the ship being made.

That's a shame Golden Armor was the one who was making this 'beautiful' kit.

He had a great build thread on Starship Modeler when he was making the master. It looked *EXCELLENT* and I really wanted one. I didn't have the money at the time, so I didn't get one. I then completely forgot about it when I realized I could make a similarly style ship out of the Pegasus Area 51 saucer kit for a lot less (I'm still working on it; getting that upper saucer mirror smooth for the chrome after filling in the scribed lines is a nightmare unto itself).

Now I'm glad I didn't hold out. Thanks for the warning guys.

By the way, you can see how he positively ruined a potentially beautiful kit with his casting techniques in the "unboxing" video on his site. The outside looks alright (it's a YouTube video, so YMMV), but the inside looks like the Cookie Monster threw up a batch of oatmeal cookies. Truly disgusting parts which look horrible to work with. He did manage to put one together, but I bet he used the greatest of care for his own copy; copies for clients will no doubt be poor to unusable.

Maybe I'll get the cahonies to start a master of this ship someday.

Yup. I saw his videos too. I agree one hundred percent. The inside of the dome looks horrible. And yet, I'm STILL stupidly tempted to get one of his kits, thinking I can fix/upgrade the parts that need it. Someone talk me out of it!
