E.T. Maquette... (WIP)

Hi Everyone.

I wanted to share something I started this past weekend... a 1:3 E.T. maquette... kind of a personal project ;) I have to be THE biggest E.T. fan and I've always thought a 1:3 version would be so cool. I'm going to make mine with a clear resin and actually have his heart light inside and light his finger as well. I have the arms roughed in but they needed more work before attaching them.
This is 16" tall and I'm also making a grassy base with the softball and some Reeses Pieces. Still super rough but I was excited enough to show some progress...

I'll keep posting my progress :D

You're the second biggest E.T. fan.

;)

Awesome piece and a must have.

As usual, incredible work.

That's taking shape VERY nicely Howard.
Can't wait to see the progress on this one.

i love how howard says yeah just threw this together. :lol

beautiful. :D

for the early stage its already very detailed.

mad skillz. ;) :thumbsup :thumbsup

That is awesome Howard.. The base sounds really cool too. It's cool you are starting 1/3 scale. I love that scale. Big enough to Wow people, yet small enough to display on a shelf. I can't wait to see this finished.

I hate you, I hate you, I hate you.....

It's alright, I'm just jealous that I don't have your talent :$

E.T looks great... although Jack, he touched my heart, I loved the skin flap on his neck and the gore

Cheers,

Kraig

Man, your work is unbelieveable. Great Job.

If you ever fire off a 1/3 or 1/2 scale Gremlin from the first
film, let us know. If anyone could do one justice, it's you.
:thumbsup

Yeah, a 1/3 or 1/2 scale Stripe would be awesome. ;)

I am really looking forward to more pics of E.T. though, it just looks incredible.

Incredible even in the early stages as usual, Howard.

You know, I bet if you did up one of these and found a way to get it to Spielberg along with a letter telling him just how much ET meant to you, I'd be willing to bet you'd get a signed letter back, if not a phone call. I bet that'd be worth it, eh? The guys who remade Raiders first got a signed letter then were eventually invited to Spielbergs place where he showed them never before seen behind the scenes film clips of Raiders and talked with them at length. Don't know if this would be something you'd care about, but if so I think it'd be worth a shot. You never know...

Can't wait to see the rest of this.

Looks great so far man. Can't wait to see him finished.

If you ever do a gremlin - screw scaled - go 1:1.

Hmmm... lets see I do have that lost E.T. film clip? :D Seriously, that would be awesome. Classic Speilberg is still my all time favorite..

I have to agree, a 1:1 Gremlin has always been on my 'to do list'.

Thanks Russ. That's funny you mentioned the flower, a friend of mine just yesterday made the same suggestion :) I'd have to ad a flannel shirt if I did a beer can :lol

Clear resin and lights you say? I'm yet again in awe.
Please make the final version available. I have the perfect display space already set aside for this project.
