I can't believe no one has mentioned that she stars in this thing! I've seen her in a couple of thing over the last year. It's great to see that she is getting more exposure over on this side of the pond.

Yeah, she did a great job. I've heard some people complain that she didn't seem to fit but I disagree. I've also heard someone say they weren't convinced that Albert Brooks could break type. So, forget "some people".

I didn't catch it in theatres (sadly) but had heard enough things from people who know what kinds of movies I liked, that I went ahead and grabbed it on bluray. I love it. I've never seen Ryan Gosling in a movie before that I am aware of, I heard a bunch of people poo-pooing the movie because it had a "Chick Flick" actor in the lead, I heard a bunch of people complaining about it being slow, and others who were grossed out by the violence.
I thought it was a great story, I liked all of the characters, I enjoyed the timing, the lack of pointless banter, the music and sounds were fantastic, and that when it was time for action it was deliberate and without nonsense. Pretty close to a perfect movie in my book. I'll watch it many times.

Great movie, glad I finally caught it on DVD. I'm a big fan of this type of quiet, moody, but ultra-violent drama, so I'm happy. Many of my favorite films have very little dialogue, and don't need it if you're paying attention.

So.. Has anyone seen The Driver within Ryan O'Neil, which this film totally ripped off??
There is a lot of love for Gosling's very sub-par "quiet, anti-hero cool guy" schtick. People seem in desperate need of seeing The Real Deal. Go find The Driver and see how quickly you forget Drive. Trust me on this..
