Dressing a Galaxy "?"

Question for any one who has this book. Are there any photos of the Rebel Fleet Troopers?

Cheers,
Jeff

The book has almost no coverage of Original Trilogy costumes. It's all about the new films. Seems to me there should be a second volume covering the older work. It's not like there isn't material for it in the WAREHOUSES full of stuff from the Lucasfilm Archives.

The only OT costumes are in little tiny pictures, either along side the PT ones in the margins, or in the big list of thumbnails at the end of the book.

I'm guessing its because they don't have as many high-quality pictures from way back when. But I do think it would be cool to show off the archive costumes, even if its just on mannequins.

Those 'little thumbnails' you mention are available as REALLY hi res images in the LF archives. Ive got a friend who has done some model work for them from time to time and they can request them by the catalogue number. They then get sent them on disc. Unfortunately they have to have a legitimate reason to request them and they also have to sign agreements out the wazoo before hand. So while Im sure a few people have some or all of those lovely hires pics the chances of them showing up are slim to none.

Thanks Jim, I have Sculpting A Galaxy. I was hopping Dressing was at least 50/50 but it sounds more 5/95 OT/PT if that. :thumbsdown I have loads of PT photos but hardly any for the OT and I'm trying to get an RFT costume together. I need good reference photos.

Cheers,
Jeff

If you're looking for RFT, one of the blue shirts was recently auctioned off, and there were some catalog pics making the rounds not too long ago...

Other than that, all I can think of is HD-Screen shots.

Dressing

Well the book was written by Trisha Biggar who worked on the new films, not the old, so has no insight on those costumes.

I reviewed this book for my job. Here's a segment from the review addressing what we're all saying. Maybe someone will listen. It's been known to happen.

"Biggar provides details on the concepts behind and materials used to elaborately outfit Jedis, Siths, princesses, and politicians (note to the publisher: a similar treatment for the OT films’ costumes would be much appreciated)."

Keep your fingers crossed.

Binding durability issues?

I just got this book new from Amazon.com and the binding seems pretty poor. If you go to certain pages, it appears the glue has basically not held and the binding is being held together with only the threads. Has anyone else had issues with the binding on this book.
