Dragoncon 2012

I'll be there! It'll be my third time and I'd definitely be interested in a meetup. I will be bringing Mara Jade, female version Tony Stark, my Elantris costume, maybe my Mistborn costume, and I dunno, I'm considering breaking out the Klingon again for the parade. My husband will be with me as Grand Admiral Thrawn and Loki (and occasionally Loki in Thrawn's makeup, aka frost giant Loki).
 
I am bringing the Iron Man Mark VII and my best friend is going as a Fem Loki. We also have a Fem Thor and a Obadiah Stane in our group.

We will be at the Superhero/Villain Ball on Saturday!
 
We are also part of the LotR group with Aragorn, Arwen, Eowyn, and Frodo on Sunday. A meet up would be badass!
 
It seems nobody is in charge here to establish the time and day and place of a meetup... So...

Why don't we start by saying WHEN is a good time for most people to meet up? I'm going to throw Friday or Sunday morning out there because of the parade on Saturday and most people are already talking about what they're doing in the evenings.

So - What would work best for you, Friday or Sunday at 10am?

Now, someone else suggest where, because I haven't been in years and have no idea what would work.


Oh, and if someone IS in charge, I don't mean to step on toes - you just need to speak up because nobody seems to know what's going on or who is planning it. :)
 
I still don't have a clue what I'm doing most of the time. Morning or maybe around lunch time would be cool with me. Friday and Sunday could both work.

I would say evening or late afternoon/dinner. 10am is just a weird time to meet up...
 
I'm flexible - I was just trying to pick a time when nobody is likely to have other plans... and that would give us plenty of time before people had to run off to something else.

We've started the discussion, so that's something! :D

If we do a meal time, we need to meet at a restaurant or near food - or bring food to wherever we are meeting. From years past, I thought the meet ups were arranged by someone who took the time to make reservations for 20+ people, and I'm not sure we have someone willing to do that. (I know I can't take that on)

So - how about 11am -1pm Friday or Sunday near or in some food court? (I seem to remember one of the hotels had one or was near a mall - my memory is so fuzzy)

That way it's still early enough to get a table before the mad rush for lunch?

Whhhaaa............................? That's fantastic, didn't know you were going Chris, we'll have to try and meet up at some point. :)

Karyn and I are going, Aliens USCM, Planet of the Apes, Classic BSG, Dr Who Ood and Babylon 5...............if any of it will go in the cases!

4th D'con for us, really looking forward to it.

Unfortunately, that is right in the middle of the mad rush, which lasts from 10 am to about 7 pm.

What about an evening meetup? 8 or 9 pm?
 
Abbydarkstar said something in another thread about trying to find out what's going on - so I have no clue if someone else is already on this officially or not.

Evenings is going to miss people who have other things they're doing... I know Friday I'm going to a LOTR event and I've seen a few people mention having get togethers on Sunday night already.

For now, I'm going to wait to see if Abby writes me back as to who is planning the official one.
 
No Thursday night meetup? I know there's a few going on, but I've seen Thursday night meetups of alot of the RPF's familiar faces around the Pulse Bar.

The SCF has a meetup in the Loft that night, so it might be a convenient thing to have one around there to kinda mingle and hang, and let those who want to grab drinks, grab drinks?

Does everyone come in by Thursday?

We fly in Thursday afternoon so we'd make it but I didn't put that as an option because I thought others weren't coming so early and wanted to include as many as possible. :)
 
I know alot of people will be there on Wednesday! We'll be up there staying with a friend Wed. night, but won't be down at the hotels until about 9am Thurs.

There could be multiple meetups too!

Yeah I assume packs of rpf'rs will mingle and culminate throughout the duration of the con
